Hi ICE sifus,

Planning a simple ICE upgrade for my Nissan Almera.

Objective is to achieve improved sound quality and still maintaining a stock look with minimal modifications.

1) HU -> Change to a double din touch screen, with Bluetooth phone calling, Mirror link. Navigation optional. Must support reverse camera and Nissan Almera steering control. Preferable those with a CD slot visible than those slide down facia. Want the unit to be flushed when installed. Budget about rm1500.

2) Change front speaker to component speakers with the tweeter stick to the door mirror plastic cap. Budget about rm400.

3) Change the rear speaker to a ok quality coaxial speakers (Currently I have an Alpine Type G from old car transferred here)

4) Optional, underseat active subwoofer. Budget about rm500 (?)

The whole point is to run the speakers off the HU, and set the HU cutoff at about 55db, so the 4 speakers and 2 tweeters handles the upper freq while the sub handles the lower freq.

I am not looking for sound staging or any bow-wow sound quality. Just want something simple but would be able to deliver good sound quality. Types of song that I listen varies from pop to old rock.

Any advise? Is the budget realistic?

1) i think u already have whats in ur mind, just choose the one that u like most will do, brand is not important since u r not going for hardcore sq

2 & 3) imho, u do not need rear speakers, use all ur budget for the front component speakers will do

4) brand also not important here, since u know ur budget, but the one easy to install underneath ur seat

Thanks. Another advice came from a shop.

They told me to forget about the underseat sub, use the budget to install an amp to drive the 6 spk. According to them this way I will get much better sound quality minus the sub thumping. And according to them the under seat sub ain't gonna do much anyway compared to those big box sub in the boot.

True?
