I am looking for CC, please advice (I am Malaysian, working overseas)
1. Annual Income: RM 75k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes/auto-waive with minimal swipes
3. Card required for: List all your needs I work overseas. So basically everything that I use, buy and eat.
4. Existing credit cards if any: nope
5. Looking at CC from: Maybank or will consider others depend on benefit given
Please advice.

QUOTE(victorywp @ Nov 4 2015, 05:17 AM) since you are working overseas, i assume you will not needed a cc for petrol? if you don't want to maintain too many cards, you may get aeon watami 3% for everything except petrol. min usage is rm3k per quarter to activate the cb. max usage is rm5k to get rm150 cb per quarter. the forex rate for aeon is low too. So you mean I get 3% back for everything I spend overseas? Or is it in Malaysia only? I forgot that I have my insurance to put inside monthly about RM300

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 4 2015, 02:02 PM) It's not so worth to spend using Malaysia credit card in overseas for long term basis. It is better you get a local credit card. I can see that you are in China now, you can get Malaysia ICBC issued credit card. I don't think it has much benefits but at least you can pay in RMB. I'm using their debit card though, will probably apply one later. Back to your query, if you still insist to get Malaysia credit card, then please specify your usage. Yours is too general. I'm having a JP Morgan card. But it some how not working very well. Exchange rates are ok. But international signing fee is too high. Main purpose for Malaysian credit card is to link to my bank account. Pay insurance. Maybe some online purchases. And food n grocery overseas. I travel China, Korea and Japan every week. So it's more convenient to link everything back to one account in Malaysia (I think). Next up is I don't know if I will have a problem with applying as I don't have a EPF.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 4 2015, 07:52 AM) Applies to anywhere, regardless local or overseas. Sorry. Just wondering. What is the difference between Maybank 2 card n aeon watami. The 2 card provided by Maybank seems not bad. Just don't have Cash back.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 7 2015, 03:10 PM) The 5xTP is only applicable to AmEx and it has higher conversion rate comparing to MasterCard and Visa in overseas. It used to be the best card but now downgraded to cash back for dining on weekends. Well, if it's so difficult to decide, you can apply all. 3k quarterly. Scared maybe I don't hit it some months. That's the worry I will face. Lol.
