1. Annual Income: RM60K to RM80K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must (or any good benefits if got annual fee?) 3. Card required for: List all your needs (spending as below) Travel Required : best card for travel 4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank2card (Visa + Amex) 5. Looking at CC from: Maybank (priority) or any. 6. Others: Looking to get a card to use during travel. I notice the Maybank pts getting lousy and no benefit at all collecting 5X pts |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 14 2016, 10:37 AM) I have both CIMB CR and UOB VOX. Miss a bit also public bank don't give chance to apply? The best one is PBB VS but I'm short of 10k of annual salary to qualify for it, so I just stick to these two for now. My summary as below: i) CIMB CR is a free for life card while UOB VOX is not, you will need to spend at least once per month (no minimum amount) to avoid RM 6.00 monthly charges. ii) CIMB CR has no minimum amount for online transactions in order to be eligible for cash back but VOX requires you to spend at least RM 50 per transaction to be eligible for cash back. iii) CIMB CR's maximum cash back for online transactions is only RM 30 (that means max spending for online transactions is RM 600) while VOX can be fully maximized at RM 50 (for RM 1k of spending). iv) CIMB CR's has a fixed date of cash back crediting while UOB VOX is by 30th of following month, usually out around 20s of the month. v) CIMB CR has cross borders charges (read here) while VOX doesn't have. vi) CIMB CR's maximum cash back for online transactions is only 5% while UOB VOX is 5.3% (5% - online transactions + 0.3% retail transactions). vii) CIMB CR doesn't give cash back for flight tickets while UOB VOX gives. viii) CIMB CR doesn't give cash back for UOBPayOnline transactions while UOB gives (refer to first post of this thread). For utilities, please refer to point (viii) and you definitely need UOB VOX. In conclusion, apply both. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 20 2016, 04:54 PM) Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard for groceries and petrol. UOB pay online got charge processing for using it? UOB Vox can pay electric bill?UOB VOX for utilities and Maxis paid via UOBPayOnline. Check out this thread for TnG Reloads if you happen to be near to them, can use Ikhwan MasterCard to reload: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3757650 CIMB CR for Astro using Astro portal or you can use UOB VOX. CIMB CR used to give cash back for Uber but these days hit or miss, so I assumed no more cash back. CIMB CR and UOB VOX for online. Others are too little for any general card. Just use any card which gives you some cash back or reward points. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 28 2016, 11:45 PM) You know the answer. UOB VOX and pay via UOBPayOnline. oh i just check the card on ringgitplus. The cashback not applicable for insurance and utilities. Like dat better get CIMB right cos no need worry about the swipe every monthAlso it is not accumulated on yearly basis, you will need to spend once every statement cycle else RM 6.36 will be charged to you on monthly basis. |
