Since there is no government tax - I keep my Maybank 2 cards for dining, applied Maybank ikhwan for petrol and grocery cash back and cimb cash rebate card for internet cash rebate.

Better go for uob vox for online transactions

Hi guys

I have 2 cards right now:

1) MasterCard Ikhwan for weekend cashback 5%
2) MU Card for TreatPoints and alcohol purchase which is haram under Islamic card

I need a card that can gimme cashback for
1) Weekday petrol
2) Digi and TNB expenditure.

Mind helping with recommendation?

Thanks

Hi,

Alcohol is no problem. As they track based on MCC code. So eg, if you buy alcohol in Tesco, it will go through and count as groceries. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Weekday petrol - MB VS, HLB Wise, CIMB CR
Digi and TNB - HLB Wise, PBB VS Aeon Watami (must spend RM3000 in 4 months to get cashback)

Sorry, that is typo.  doh.gif

yea, i almost forgot cross border charges. But is it all the CC also will charge this fee?

Is there other alternative CC other than this 2 cards fall under online category?

Yes. Ambank true credit card. 3% cashback. Capped at rm30. No admin charges. biggrin.gif

You can consider AEON Watami 3% cashback. One of the lowest forex rates

I read somewhere that UOB VOX will only pay cash back if transaction is > rm50? Also need to swipe once per month?
*
Yes CB only if >=RM50. Swipe a month to avoid AF. smile.gif

1. Annual Income: RM40K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: yes

3. Card required for: petrol, groceries, utilities

4. Existing credit cards if any: 0

5. Looking at CC from: prefer islamic CC from any bank...

6. Others: Please be specific. Fresh graduate

thanks siiifuuuuuu...

I think HLB wise. Apply the gold one. Lower Annual fees and same cash back when compare to platinum. Annual fees only RM160 if you can get cashback of RM100/month, even with annual fees, you get about 8% cash back.

1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: not necessary if it can be waived with condition

3. Card required for: Petrol, Telco

4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank 2 Cards Gold (RIP), Aeon Watami Visa, AEON New Gold Visa

5. Looking at CC from: not sure

6. Others: My main expenses now are Petrol and Telco. Followed by Pharmacy/Groceries. Maybank 2 Cards has been the only card for the expenses I mentioned but it's worthless now except for occasional Dining.

*Is there any more "hybrid" card besides Maybank 2 Cards (Points + Cashback) and AEON Watami (Cashback + Points) on the market?

Thanks a lot.

From what I can see can use ikhwan for petrol and groceries on Fri and sat.

If you are ok with hlb wise AF, it can cover your telco and pharmacy. If you exceed your ikhwan card, can use wise to pick petrol or groceries category.

Hi victorywp,

Thanks for the recommendation.

Sorry, if 3 cards, is it have another card combination for my usage?
Thanks

If you earn rm100k, you can apply for maybank vs and public bank vs.

Or you can consider hlb wise gold for telco, TNB, petrol. Hlb CB needs swipe min Rm50x10 times
Maybank ikhwan for groceries as maybank CB condition is only swipe on Fri and sat.
Can consider uob vox for unif pay at TM page.
If insurance, dont know.

For VOX to pay UniFi is still unverified yet, suggest not to recommend things which are not confirmed yet. So far verified is for Streamyx but not UniFi.

For insurance, can try Aeon Watami.

One forummer called up CS and they told him to get 5% pay through TM page.

Most, if not all of the car insurance providers, are already providing free car towing service.

I don't think there is a credit card that provide such, at least not to my knowledge.
