Looking for a good petrol (BHP) credit card for my dad. His petrol usage is more than RM1000 every month. Preferable not limited to weekends only. He hate using credit card at the card slot machine in petrol station so Hong Leong Wise is not good for him...he prefer giving it to the cashier and signing it...duh.

So far I only see Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Gold or UOB one card hmm.gif

Looking for good card to get at least 5% rebate for groceries and petrol on Sat or Sun. So far only notice Al-Ikhwan but it's for Fri and Sat only...

Currently using Wise but gonna reach 1 year soon...gotta cancel it cause don't wanna pay for annual fee for primary and subsidiary.

Ah sorry my bad. Any recommendation for petrol and groceries?

Also I like to pay bills online as well. Don't mind applying few cards for different purpose.

UOB One Card, Citibank CB Card - Grocery, petrol

UOB Vox- 5%CB, It's Good for Online Spend, pay Utilities bill via UOB Payonline.
(MUST with a minimum spend of RM50 in a single receipt/transaction)
- Capped at RM1,000 Spend with Max. CB RM50 per month & Monthly Fee (RM6.36) will be Waived with 1x Swipe/month.

Oh nice recommendation for the UOB Vox since I did pay a lot of bills online! Does buying from sites like Lazada and 11 street counts as online spend as well?

Grocery and Petrol I will probably aim for Citibank. Let me check which 1 of them has free annual fee for life.

Need 1 more card for dining and shopping (clothes, make up and etc for my mom and sis). Any recommendation for that?

Btw guys do u know if Public Bank Petron card can be used inside the counter? Or must pump outside 1?

For now I will get these:

UOB Vox: For my parents and my house's bills
Citibank Cash Rebate: For grocery and petrol

Cancelling: HongLeong Wise since need annual fee for second year

Still looking 1 more card for dining and clothes..so far got 1 recommendation -> HLB Mach.

Yes, check out UOB thread's first post to know which we have tried so far.
No, unless you can get PBB VS.

On another hand, if you have been getting RM 100 every month from Wise, what's the problem of paying AF? After all, it is really a good card. I have Wise along with VOX, MACH and Ikhwan MasterCard to name some.
No, but if you want to save your hassle, you can cancel VOX just stick to PBB VS. Easier maintenance.
*
Problem is I don't usually get that much rebate from Wise. Most of the time it's just 30-40 bucks monthly.

And I don't think I can get Public VS as my annual income is not as much as that.

Then, you are not maximizing the benefits of Wise. OK, it is wiser to cancel it.

If you cannot get PBB VS for dining, your only choice is only HLB MACH. My pure card for dining transactions.
*
Yea...1 more question. Do you know about PB Petron card? Do you know if it can be used in the counter or must pump outside like Wise?

Why don't you ask eddievh since he reported it in "Report your Cash Back from Credit Cards" thread. My answer is yes, it is accepted based on one of his replies below:

1) Charge all your general expenses to any of your AEON cards.
2) Pay your AEON card via PosOnline, it has AEON payment but comes with 2% service charge. Use cards which give online cash back like PBB VS, UOB VOX and CIMB CR.
3) Get your cash back. Usually it is 5%-2% = 3%, so you still earn 3%. biggrin.gif
*
Eh like that let's say I swap dining, groceries, petrol or whatever to the Aeon card, then I pay via PosOnline with UOB Vox...so I get 3% rebate for everything?

Yes but does it worth for it? There are better cards for groceries, petrol and dining. Also VOX only gives you cash back of RM 50 which is RM 1k spending. I will not choose this option.
*
Ah I see. Make sense as well.

EDIT: But for other categories that does not fill petrol, groceries or dining could benefit from this 3% right?

Perhaps it's better for me to post my requirement here so that others could help to suggest. I did a lot of searching and ran out of ideas.

1. Annual Income: > 36k but < 70k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Waived for first year or free for life

3. Existing credit cards if any: CIMB Cash Rebate, Maybank 2 card

4. Card required for:

(a) Petrol for work (Paid in counter cause the petrol station no card machine outside): 1k to 1.5k
(b) Petrol myself + parents: 200
(c ) Groceries: 200
(d) Utilities: 500
(e) Online shopping: 100-200
(f) Dining: 200-300
(g) Retail, shopping and others: 500

- Just applied for Citibank Cash Rebate for petrol and groceries for item (b). Still considering if there's a better card hmm.gif Was thinking Ikhwan but it's only for Friday and Saturday. I need to cover Sunday as well as my parents like to do groceries on Sunday.
- My next move is to get Public Bank Petron card for item (a) as it can rebate 5% up to max RM50 and can get the rebate eventhough it's paid through the counter and not the card machine in petrol station.
- Planning to apply for UOB Vox for item (d) and (e)
- No plan for item (f) and (g). Could get HL Mach for item (f) but not sure how good is the coverage.

Less than RM 3k, I hardly hit RM 200 though. smile.gif Probably I will need to rephrase it to RM150-180, sounds more reasonable for my case.

Hi fruitie, do you have any card to recommend me based on my requirement above? laugh.gif

Since you are OK for first year waiver, then you can try UOB One Card.
Cash Rebate for petrol (Weekdays 2% / Weekends 5%)
- Capped at RM500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM300 for UOB ONE Classic card per month

Cash Rebate for AEON Big, Tesco, Cold Storage, Jaya Grocer and Giant (Weekdays 1% / Weekends 2%)
- Capped at RM1,500 for UOB ONE Platinum card and RM1,000 for UOB ONE Classic card per month

HLB MACH is my pure dining card and so far it is serving me quite well. Refer to this thread's post #1 for some of the merchants which don't give cash back for dining: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2421215&hl=
*
UOB One is more or less the same as Citibank Cash Rebate except the max capped is higher.

Will get the HLB Mach laugh.gif

Any good card for retail shopping? Cosmetics or fashions from shopping mall..might not be from those franchise shops.

I use my M2 AmEx Plat most of the time for TP, still not bad equals to 1.25%. If AmEx is not accepted, I have OCBC GE Plat which gives 1% for first RM 1k. I hardly shop every month and if I shop most of them accept AmEx.
*
Was thinking to use the Aeon > UOB trick to get the rebate if since my utilities and online spending can't get max 50 rebates hmm.gif

Hi guys, I applied PB Petron Visa card for my dad cause he pumped Petron petrol but now I noticed he like to pump both Petron and BHP XD. Is there any card that can utilize such petrol spendings?

Oh another thing to add, his spendings includes random day...so that means could be weekdays or weekends sweat.gif

You may look into UOB One and probably Affin card, there's one for BHP.
*
Affin would be better as the cap is larger than UOB one but UOB works for any petrol.

Example on 1000 petrol usage, 500 on BHP and 500 on Petron.

Currently I have PB Petron Visa gold.

It will give 2% for 500 bucks spent, therefore 10 bucks rebate. None for BHP

For Affinbank BHPetrol 'Touch & Fuel', it's 2% on weekdays so 2% for 500 bucks spent,
therefore 10 bucks rebate. None for Petron.

For UOB One Card, 2% for weekdays but only 6 bucks cap. 5% for weekend but only on weekend and capped at 15 bucks.

Therefore, BHP seems better as it has 2% on weekdays but also 10% on weekends but still couldn't utilize the usage of both Petron and BHP hmm.gif

CIMB could rebate on both BHP and Petron but only 2% rebate, therefore 10 bucks rebate also.

Citibank Cash Rebate is 5% but on petrol it's capped on 15 bucks only hmm.gif
