Well, if your spending is more than RM2K a month, HSBC Amanah Platinum? 8% on petrol and groceries on weekends.

My petrol usage is a lot, citibank + wise add up just nice. Groceries, I used it to top up TnG at Mydin, I cannot find any credit card which gives better value on grocerries.

1. Annual Income: RM170K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for:
- cash advance,
- low interest fee
- balance transfer

4. Existing credit cards if any:
- Direct Access (CIMB)
- Standard Chartered

5. Looking at CC from:
- Hong Leong Bank
- Public Bank

6. Others: Please be specific. -
Here is my situation. I dislike my Standard Chartered credit card after using it for many years now so I am looking to replace it with another credit card, the Maybank 2 Platinum cards (due to the lower 8.88% interest rate), which I have applied for yesterday. For those who have experience applying from Maybank, may I know how long it takes to process and for me to receive the two Maybank cards?

Also, I got three mortgage loans approved (and signed the LO) from three banks within the last two weeks. Those three banks are OCBC, Hong Leong Bank and Public Bank. Are credit cards automatically approved (if you agree to apply) if you have mortgage loans approved from those banks?
So far, of those three banks, I have only agreed to apply for OCBC Bank credit card and the banker has submitted my application for it.

Currently my priority is to get the Maybank 2 Platinum cards. If I apply for the other two credit cards from Hong Leong and Public Bank at about the same time, will it affect my application for the Maybank credit cards?

The effective cash back will never be 8% as it is cap at RM100 per month, the maximum can earn is 5% cash back and is restricted on weekend only.

Cashback Category Cashback Rate Monthly Cap Spend
Petrol, Groceries and Dining 3% RM100 up to RM2000 monthly on weekends only
Petrol, Groceries and Dining 8% RM100 from RM2001 and above monthly on weekends only
Overseas Spend 1% uncapped any amount in a single receipt
Local Spend 0.2% uncapped any amount in a single receipt

Bro, you are in the same situation as me. What I do is that I apply for Aeon Watami, 3% cash back on Unifi and TNB and for astro I use CIMB cash back rewards.... wondering if there is any other better options.

Referring to item #3, it's because I don't have medical card. But my company allows me to claim quite high amount of medical expenses.
I've been using debit card for the past 4 yrs bcoz I had a bad history with CC & I learnt my lesson the hard way. I'm hoping I won't make the same mistake again.
