Any card/ cards suggestion for me? :-) Currently using HLB Wise, MBB 2 AMEX and OCBC GE card.  My monthly spending:

Unifi: RM 160
Telco: RM80

Is there any suggestion for me?

I can replace UOB VOX Card with CIMB Cash Rebate MasterCard.

But, what about departmental spending (such as in Aeon Departmental)?
*
Maybe Citibank Cash Back Card or HLB Mach https://www.machbyhongleongbank.com/product...ch-credit-card/

Citibank CB / Platinum CC

Citibank Cash-Back Card (Income Requirement RM36k p.a) Annual Fee - RM120 + (6% GST) = RM127.20
Citibank Cash Back Platinum (Income Requirement $60k p.a) Annual Fee - $195 + (6% GST) = RM206.70

Cash Back:
* 5% X for Petrol
- Monthly capped at RM300 with Max.$15 Cash Back for Citibank Cash Back
- Monthly capped at RM400 with Max.$20 CB for Citibank Cash Back Plat.

* 2% X Cash Rebate for Major Mobile service providers (Maxis, Digi)
[Unlimited Monthly Rebates with t&c On, MUST Pay the Bill thru Citibank Online ONLY in-order to get Cash-back]

* 2% X Cash Rebate on Groceries (AEON Big formerly known as Carrefour, Tesco, Cold Storage, Giant, Everise, Servay, Econsave & Mydin)
- Monthly capped at RM1500 with Max.$30 Cash Back for Citibank Cash Back
- Monthly capped at RM3000 with Max.$60 CB for Citibank Cash Back Plat.

* 2% X Cash Rebate for Pharmacies (Guardian, Watson and Caring) [No Capping]

* 0.2% X Cash Rebate for Others Spending [No Capping]

Note: Cash Back Platinum in BLUE

Citibank CB Only credit the cash back earned once you reach RM20 & If Cash Back < RM20 for a particular month, the total cash rebate amount will be carried forward to the following month.

Thanks for the recommendation.
For TNB and telco, all require via standing instruction?
Pay at counter or machine is not eligible?

I saw someone comment that online payment for TNB through posonline or UOB websiite,
is it considerd in online category which will give us 5% cb?
UOB Yolo 6%? or both cards are not suitable for online TNB payment?

Citibank CB also 2% for telco, does it via standing instruction too?

Thanks.
*
Yup,
TNB and telco billing through standing instruction is ONLY the WAY to Earn 2% cash back. IF via POSonline using CIMB CR. effective cashback 2.88% = (CIMB CR's 5% minus POS online's 2.12% service fee).

(Not sure bcos quite a NEW card) blink.gif UOB YOLO maybe also can Use on POSline method to earn CB effective cashback 3.88% = (UOB YOLO's 6% minus POS online's 2.12% service fee)...? However, u got to spend at least min. RM500 /monthly to triggle 6% CB)
http://www1.uob.com.my/assets/pdf/tnc/YoloCard-tnc-eng.pdf

As Citibank CB 2% for telco Must Pay via Citibank Online to earn CB

3. Card required for:

Petrol - RM300
Phone Bill - RM50
Unifi - RM179
Makan - RM300
Movie - RM100++

Can't remember what I usually spend, but averagely should be over 1k per month.

4. Existing credit cards if any: The Combo Citi CC. Shell and Clear

5. Looking at CC from: No preference as long as fits my needs
*
i) Makan + Movie = HLB Mach
ii) Petrol + Phone bill (from which Telco..??? blink.gif ) = Convert your Shell card to Citibank CB Card or get CIMB CR Mastercard icon_idea.gif

Shell. But I don't mind Caltex. No petronas or BHP. I'm not sure if CB card can convert. Citi no AF for life?

Maybe can request for an UPGRADE icon_idea.gif
Citibank Cash Back Card

This card can get CB on any Petrol & Rebate on Phone bill (Maxis, Digi) if Pay thru login Citibank Online + CB with Groceries, Pharmacies spend
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=81879337

True of Citibank-Shell Card...
U got to Spend at Least RM$2500 a Month (Must Included $1700 on Others Spend + $800 on Shell Fuel) baru can Get 8% on Shell Fuel Rebate & You Only Can get 8% Rebate from the $800 Shell Fuel Spends Not All Based on Your Total Spending $2500 & If Less than RM300 Spending NO CB at ALL... doh.gif

Cash Rebate is On Tiers Based Like ie,
If the Cardmember's Monthly Total Spend falls under Tier 3, the Rebate on Shell Fuel Spend earned by the Principal Cardmember will be 8% of the Monthly Total Spend on Shell Fuel subject to the Maximum Shell Fuel Spend to Earn Rebates of RM800 only.

Tier MonthlyTotal Spend (Shell Fuel Spend + Non Shell Fuel Spend)Rebate on Shell Fuel SpendMaximum Shell Fuel Spend to Earn Rebates
1.RM300 to RM9994%RM250 x 4% = $10 CB
2.RM1,000 to RM2,4996%RM500 x 6% = $30 CB
3.RM2,500 and above8% RM800 x 8% = $64 CB

* For now on ONLY Choice Card is Lifetime Fee Waiver but try to request AF Waiver if their have charge for Other cards... nod.gif

CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard bcos It's Free for Life is a GOOD CARD for Safe Keeping as Backup.
* 2% CB on Utility, Mobile Bill Payments via Standing Instruction/Auto Debit (TNB, Gas Malaysia, SESCO, Maxis, Digi, Celcom, U Mobile, YES)
* 2% CB for Petrol, Groceries
* 5% CB for E-Commerce/Online Spend (Max. CB RM30.00/ month)
* 0.2% CB on Other Retail Spend
With Total Maximum CB capped at RM50/month

Reposting due to lack of recommendations:

First time here, so please help me out a bit.

1. Annual Income: (basic pay + allowances, is this how I calculate it?) RM36K RM 50K to RM60K - I can apply for 2 cards, right?

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card(s) required for:
Groceries and apparel
Education (can I pay PTPTN loan with cards?)
Petrol (strictly Petronas and Shell only, preferring Petronas)
Bills

Would really prefer cards with cashback feature, as points have less liquidity, and are hard to keep track of or redeem.

4. Currently not holding any credit card

5. Not looking at any cards from any banks.
*
Same as Above + MBB Ikhwan Mastercard (5% CB Petrol, Groceries on Fri /Sat)

However, PTPN can Pay Over the Counter with CC at Selected PTPN Branch Only sweat.gif
