R-K-F,
If you need one now, might as well just pay for the Leopard upgrade when it's out.  Besides, would you really need to use the 'new' features on Leopard?  Plus, when Leopard's out, Apple may announce something else and u'll want it, then u'll just wait again ah?

When would all the waiting end?!  ohmy.gif
(Here I am asking people to get it while I'm still stuck deciding!) hAhahaha....  rclxub.gif

How much HDD space would Leopard need? With all those features I figure it would need at least double of Macbook's stock HDD size..

civic98,
If you're not gonna be using the 'additional' applications, maybe don't even need to get Leopard. Anyhow, no need to think so much now I guess - we'll just have to keep waiting till it's been released. No point talking so much about it - i mean, there's just certain things which can be planned, and well, some things just can't be planned tongue.gif

Was being sarcastic laugh.gif .

I wouldn't count on needing double macbook's hdd size. Should at max, leopard should be at 1~5gb bigger than tiger os.

KTay,
What I meant was I sure can understand why the 'sarcasm' especially with my double-mindedness *grins* I remember coming onto this forum with the same questions - should I wait for Leopard to be released before making the purchase? Should I get an MBP?! etc etc

And for me to tell others there's really no best time to get something, nor wait for Leopard sure seems a little uhm..... [well, i think you get where I'm coming from]... cool.gif

And, of course we're good! It's X'mas thumbup.gif Just need to know where those pressies of mine are hidden *grins*

leopard is compatible for both PPC and Intel so yes your ibook G4 can be upgraded to leopard. AFAIK, Apple has yet to have to plans to stop supporting PPC but it is safe to say 10.6 or 10.7 onwards they prolly will because PPC may be too slow to run those.

I think it should be USD129, or RM499. Which isn't too much to pay for an OS. This is a MAJOR upgrade anyways.

I remember distinctly queuing up at the Applecentre in London for OS X 10.0 way back on March 24, 2000. Crazy. I was prolly the 50th buyer.

Apple usually has the software rebate coupon, but usually valid for newly purchased hardware (without Leopard at the time of purchase) over a certain time period.

Personally I am waiting to buy a MacBook, but only after Leopard is released.

it's safe to say that Leopard MUST look and perform better than wat was revealed at the WWDC by Stevie Jobs... the expectation of this OS is juz too immense for it to look almost the same as the current brushed metal look and juz hv stuff frm other OS like spaces & time machine...

But having said that, will get the upgrade irregardless... brows.gif
