I have this issue once, yesterday. Before I installed the latest driver.

lol, this is wierd, very troublesome though, thought my graphic card broke cause the fan stopped spinning. i noticed when my cpu is on load it will randomly crash though.

I am planning to buy a GTX970..which brand is better in terms of reliability and RMA service, either Gigabyte or EVGA..Thanks

Errr...an ancient card..hd6850..need new card to cope with madvr also. Hd6850 cannot render the software smoothly.

Initial test on skylake.. Gpu score is lower. Hoping with all the option m8e should have.. Can resolve it. Really wanna do a proper tuned dc vs skylake..

Since that it is said to remove the bottleneck caused by PCIe, does it mean it need a brand new motherboard design for it to work?

The whitepaper details on the GPU to GPU connection (p2p) only. The connection to CPU is still through PCI-E.

NVLink for CPU-GPU is being implemented by IBM for supercomputers only.

IMHO, if NVIDIA want to implement NVLink succesfully, then it can be through:-
i) akin to SLI bridge
ii) Dual GPU cards

It seems unlikely that NVIDIA will introduce 2 variants of GPU i.e. 1 for PCI-e interface, 1 for "NVLink" interface..

Hmm... if it is only to allow GPU communicate each other, then I think NVLink maybe won't make any noticeable different to us...

I thought it will be innovative move like Intel i7...

Nvlink is to increase parallel computing to 8 cards.

Doubt it has any gain/use for desktop gaming

GTX 970 (used), use to sell close to RM1k last time. Nowadays seem a lot higher.

Next year are the Pascal cards, quite awhile until they are out, and probably cost $$$

Since you are using an old GPU and not really an avid gamer, I say go for it. You will see a nice boost in performance. Should last you awhile for your purposes.

how about Zotac GTX 970 Amp Evtreme Core priced at 1.6k, worth to buy?

Or just wait for Pascal, I can wait and can save more money.

what do you think? I play games too but not online, just FPS like cod and battlefield single player and had to satisfy with medium or low settings.
