Hello guys. Need your expertise and advice on a pretty serious issue.

I bought a 2010 Vios J-spec (MANUAL) with around 110K in mileage, back in Mar 2015. While I have been pretty happy with the FC and the overall performance of the car, I've noticed that my car revs up to 3000rpm at 110km/h. Some people claim that a normal Vios would hover around 2600-2800 rpm but not this high.

FYI, the car came with a set of sh!t-@ss Venomz 15" rims which look almost like deep dish wheels. The previous owner even paired them with Continental 195/50 R15 tires (Contisport 3 IIRC). I believe that this combo may have caused the car to suffer at the FC department. I get average 430-450km at 100% city driving (Penang), but can sometimes hit 580km per full tank when I'm on the expressway.

My question is: is this sort of FC normal? I am currently using Liqui Moly Mos2 10W-30 Semi-synth and always pump Petronas Primax 97.

Another more pressing issue: I've noticed these few days that my gear shifting is a bit more rough (as if it needs more effort to shift through the gates), and sometimes when I rev up till 2500rpm, the car doesn't seem to have much 'push' as before. What could have possibly caused this? I will be sending my car tomorrow to the SC to change the gear oil as I've heard that older oil may cause these symptoms. I pray to God it's not a slipped clutch.

Your advice is duly appreciated.

Although I never had a 2010 Vios but I used to drive a 2006 Vios.

Full tank 450km city (KL) and highway 580KM just like your car. 15inch Goodyear Eagle F1.

Personally I had a friend who bought a Vios E for her wife. He claimed that his car managed 600KM++ on mixed city and highway. I dont know how his wife drive or any truth in it. I never met anyone else that made such bold claims.

I see. So 450 city and 580 hway is pretty much the ballpark figure, and that's with my car having the stupid ugly rota rims + used 195/50 tires. But a lot of ppl are shooting out numbers higher than yours and mine. You know how Malaysians love to overstate things.

I can sort of believe the 600km++ number, because I hit 580 with a bit more fuel to spare (didn't wanna try my luck and get stranded with no fuel). Guy probably spent every drop of petrol to reach it, or his city/hway ratio is 20/80.

Anyways, I've changed my tires to Michelin XM2 195/55 R15 this afternoon, so I really hope to see some noticeable improvements soon. I'm also gonna change out my gear oil and another round of Liqui Moly 10-30W tomorrow. If I don't see anything above my average figure of 450/580, I'm thinking smthng really weird is going on with my car. BTW, I'm a slow driver and I don't rev up to 3K unless necessary. I always thought MT would have an advantage over AT, but it seems I could be wrong.

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it.
