Doesn't matter all these. The reason why I bought vios instead  of city just because my heart told me so. 😬
As a 24 yo guys, of course city is way more appealing compared to vios.
But I don't know, something tells me that if I go for vios, peace of mind belongs to me especially for in long term. 😉✌

Me too 👍

Spend 4k accessories not worth. Perhaps UMW Toyota should give 4k offer on extra safety features :-

J, E specs  = 2x extra side airbags for driver + front passenger and rear DISC brakes.. + nice Rim??

G, GX or TRD specs = 4x extra side airbags for ALL passengers, and rear ventilated DISC brake..

Safety features are the utmost importance for tomorrow automotive..  not accessories, leather seats, acoustic windshield, LED lights.. Is UMW Toyota listening?? Alright. Thanks.
*
Yup. I choose toyota over almera coz airbag

Wondering the new vios with 7 speed gear. If normal driving at D position, will use all 7 gear? Or need to shift to semi auto?

Been driving it for a week, I tried manual mode, push all the way to 7th gear and note the RPM on that speed, then I switched back to D mode, which surprisingly that the RPM are lower than when you are in 7th speed semi auto.
Driving using normal D mode emphasize more on fuel efficiency (ECO mode lights on) while semi auto mode give you more dynamic feel (ECO mode lights off). Overtaking car using semi auto mode is easy and responsive.
*
Thx for your clarification. Meaning normal D mode is 7 speed gear.
Coz few years back, i drive my friend's camry 2.4. I need to switch semi auto for higher gear ratio.

Yeap. It is virtual simulated by computer, however I not sure if the gear ratio(virtual) is manipulated by speed or it is fixed to the speed.
Because when I cruising at 80km/h, using semi auto 7th gear give me 1.6k rpm reading, and after I switched back to D mode, it dropped to 1.2k rpm.

Bro, i going to get the J spec which doesnt come with Multi display. What is in the multi display? Can share? Thx

Basically, below are the functions for multi display (DVD-AVX)
1. DVD player
2. Panoramic view display (E spec above)
3. USB.
4. FM/AM
5. AUX input
6. Voice command (command such as play next song, etc)
7. Bluetooth audio

Personally I think if you are not so keen into the panoramic view and reverse camera, then get the J spec is enough.
Now the price is RM 4K difference between J and E spec.

4K price difference, you get
1. Panoramic view with reverse camera.
2. MultiDisplay (touch screen)
3. Front fog light
4. Retractable side mirror (w/ signal indicator)
5. Rear arm rest with cup holders.
6. 60:40 split rear seat.
*
Not radio. There is 1 at meter there. Can see how many km left for remaining petrol. They said j spec and e spec also dont have. Is it true?

Yes. That one called MID (Multi Info Display), which show you remaining distance you can travel with current petrol, average fuel consumption etc.

But I personally don't find it really useful all the time.

1. You won't got that free time to keep on monitoring all these after awhile.
2. Remaining distance is just rough calculation from ECU, don't drive until 0km left only pump petrol, you can just refer to the fuel tank indicator.
3. Average fuel consumption, J & E spec can just use the trip A to calculate a rough fuel consumption based on how much petrol you pumped, how long the distance travelled.
*
Alright. Means the MID not important.
Go for J spec Auto la.
Thanks a lot!

It's about safety , the higher spec seems to offer rear disc brakes

Now , I know the J spec comes with VSC , which is good. As long as you keep within speed limit or drive at an average speed , the drum brakes should be okay
*
This time toyota vios really good. All spec got keyless and all safety feature with 2 air bag for all spec. Very good advantage for new buyer for low spec.
Yup. I dont need touch screen HU and leather seat. The only 2 things i want is rear disc brake and auto flip mirror. Too bad. Nothing comes perfect. Next week will get my car d. Medium Silver J spec auto. Yay!

Keep photos posting and update us HERE after the changes..
I still stick to yellow main headlamp to comply with regulations.. But white bulbs for small lamp and rear number plate light.. Show us the photo of multimedia control steering you bought.. ok?

Changing the steering will void warranty?

Normal drive, use D..
Experience M+ mode speed for overtaking.

the rpm will shot up.. no lack of response.. but FC will be higher..
*
Yup. The semi auto mode rev up the rpm. Very responsive.
I prefer normal drive D mode. Now almost half tank. 225km.
Very good fc. This weekend will go for 1k service.
Overall, vios is good. No regret to choose Vios.
I upgrade from proton persona. The NVH is better.
Anyone tested the keyless if we forgot to lock the vehicle, will it lock itself once we walk futher than the detecting range?

1st service at Toyota tmn midah @ rm135
2nd service at Toyota Balakong @ rm119
imo both should be same price but Balakong cheaper

I estimate my car mileage this weekend will be 700km. Need to go back hometown this weekend. I called toyota cheras and they advise me to come service the following weekend. Over 1000km is fine as long within the month.
Is the info correct?

cheras told me not to go over 3000. I service at 22xx cos I went Penang when my mileage at 9xx.

QUOTE(kentbong92 @ Jul 10 2017, 12:11 PM)
I think should be correct. Mine 3rd week already, clocked 750km++.. If go back home town plus return trip definitely would exceed the 1000km mileage already. So this weekend make a booking for 1st service, and going back hometown next weekend.. hehe..
*
Alright. Then i come back and service the following week.
The car so far so good. Havent half tank already 250km.
