QUOTE(ck2chan @ Dec 11 2016, 02:35 AM) Go visit Toyota showroom. They offer good discount. Don't worry about stock. There will still be another CNY sale/promo on next month.Anything between 8-9k discount. I heard stock running very low coz many people rush for the year end promotion. But still, I already booked 1 for myself the E variant On another note, I got 3 question to sifu's:- a) Does the acoustic windshield make a difference in NVH? b) Are they any difference between braking using rear drum and rear disc brake? Is rear drum brake less sensitive to pedal pressing? c) During first 1st & 2nd service (1000km & 5000km), is it ok to cruise through highway for break-in? |

QUOTE(ck2chan @ Dec 11 2016, 05:49 PM) SA said if acoustic windshield need insured higher for windshield. True? Extra RM300 from the ori insurance amount. Yes, acoustic windshield is much more expensive. My SA said the insurance is around RM400-500 total. Only front & back windshield is covered. You ask people wait so you can get the colour and stock. How long can get the car? Actually I don't really care, because I already booked last week I just got news from my SA that the Vios stock for December is limited after 15 Dec. The TRD, GX, and G variant is out of stock. E is limited and J is still available. For E variant, only Red and Black color is available. Also anyone who booked Vios after 15 Dec will not be guaranteed to get it this month, unless your loan got approved instantly. Once your loan is rejected or took too long to process, you will have to wait for January batch. |

Just got my Toyota Vios yesterday, and guess what, I broke the right tail light because I was too focused on the reverse camera. It hit a pillar when I wasn't looking at the side mirror.
Learn a valuable and expensive lesson. Sadly I have to go back to service and see how much damage.. |

QUOTE(wan7075 @ Dec 30 2016, 05:07 PM) happy 2017 to all Vios owner.. Mine is 417km/29L = 14.38 km/lreport my Vios 1st fuel efficiency record here: 14.41KM/L around 490KM with 33.98L Ron95 / rm64.58@ 1.90 speed around 80~90KM/H, 20% city, 80% Highway. hope can further improve after the 1st service! Speed, 100-120km/h with Shell Ron 97, 90% highway Also, I ran the engine idle for 1 hour every day, so FC will be reduced a bit. I really like the NVH, at most I only rev up to 3 - 3.5k rev/min. Never use the manual transmission at all, except when testing only. Also on highway hills, engine will rev from 2k to 2.5k @ 110km/h. I think it will struggle when carry passengers/load. Tyre noise is low below 1000km. After 1000km, tyre noise is obvious after 100km/h. Another thing is, the car move slightly left and right. Last week went from JB-KL the car is swaying left & right slightly. Supposed to be like that because the car is light? |

QUOTE(steve1703 @ Jan 15 2017, 02:20 PM) Yes, since you will be messing with the wiring and voltage supply of the lights. If the lightbulb/battery has some issues, your warranty will void QUOTE(yosheng @ Jan 16 2017, 11:24 AM) Does it sound like two metals rubbing together? If it is, it's normal. You can even hear it if you brake. If it's a 'tak' sound, record the noise and consult your SA QUOTE(gavinfong @ Jan 16 2017, 01:17 PM) Do new vios Bluetooth calling opponent will hearing very noise? Anybody help testing on this? I just get my car for 2 days. When I call other people they said very hard to hear and the sound very noisy Tried it, but during traffic jam. They can hear me but I have to speak quite loud.Haven't tried while driving highway speed. I have been using it for 1 month, and I wonder does the Vios has any door lock indicator like Proton cars? If the seat belt has beeping, why can't it beep when it detects car not locked? |

QUOTE(mygarage88 @ Mar 18 2017, 09:54 PM) bad experience with Toyota vios. Bought 2 months ago. I faced same problem on 3 & 4. But for 3, it only happens during start of day. Then after few seconds the sound it reduces.1. Break got sound when let go slowly during downhill or D when on flat road. 2. when you change gear, the feeling and sound was so rough, and when u listen outside, you can hear a fairly loud "kruk" ! my heart dropped 3. When you turn the steering, you can hear the "geseran" sound. Is this normal? 4. when you turn off engine, you can hear some sound like hitting metal sound, searched online, is because of heat and the metal expand ...something like that ... i cant believe this ... I suspect the sales gave me old stock/drive test stock as this is year end sales (2016) Toyota Vios user, can please help to advice whether the above is norm?? Really need advice before i go complain the sales ! For 4, yes it's quite annoying but after few minutes it will be gone. Should be normal I guess. Never experience 1 & 2. Also do you guys feel like the car is swaying left or right when driving above 90kmh in straight highway? I've experience this since buying the FL Vios. |

QUOTE(axsatr @ Apr 30 2017, 07:38 PM) Guys, I need your unbiased opinion; Seems like you already made up your mind about buying the City already.I don't want to begin a new thread and attract unwanted trolls, so I'd just like to ask directly to owners instead. Yesterday, I tested both the Vios (GX) and City (V). Currently, I'm using my parents MyVi and I'm planning to upgrade to either City (S) or Vios (J) The MyVi is honestly just fine, FC is very good (average 6 l/100km from my Fuelly), service is very cheap and it's very reliable. The drawback is the poor driving posture (arms hurt), safety (no VSC and shitty handling - evasive manouveres not ricer) and it's not mine (parents car is getting old, I should really return this back to them. They don't mind, but I do) Anyway, what's the key difference between Vios (J) and City (S). So far I'm leaning towards the City for the following reasons; i) FC seems good for both, roughly like the MyVi ii) Quieter than the Vios - Vios engine very noisy under hard acceleration iii) More spacious than Vios iv) Cheaper than Vios v) Maintainence seems reasonable - slightly more expensive from the MyVi vi) Has buttons on steering as standard vii) Stock HU looks better to me viii) Foldable rear seats - Vios don't have right? Am I missing something with the Vios? Why did you guys prefer Vios over City? Is the Vios more reliable? Or is the built quality better? How about rattling for both, which is better? What is the most obvious advantage that the Vios has over the City? Any of you regretting getting the Vios? Sorry for typing here for too long, thanks As for me, I decided to buy Toyota instead of Honda due to the new engine, VSC at the time, price value & comfort. I haven't test driven the Honda City, but at the time (Dec 2016), I knew Honda is going to launch a new City soon and the old city will be obsolete; the Toyota has more value than the City. I do have regrets buying it sooner than later (due to the new Vios accessories), but I really needed a car at the time. I have serviced my car 3 times: RM120, RM90, and RM 310 consecutively. Considered cheap. The last nail in the coffin was, Honda had a huge ordeal about the Airbags, rattling noise, their CVT gearbox, and bad after-sales service. Sure, Toyota has some issue with their previous models Airbags, but I hear a lot of complaining from Honda users as compared to Toyota users. |

QUOTE(mygarage88 @ Apr 29 2017, 07:10 PM) Now, new prob again. Window sound when roll down, up. Mostly happen during raining days ... my god. My myvi also better than this. Ps, mine is new car, happpen one month after. F I got the problem only on the driver side. But it only happens on rainy days. How to complain to Toyota highest level? Dealer no f me. Toyota service center can't do much because the sound not always has, but I got video I think it's because of the tinted film but it's gone after few winding up/down. Post it to youtube and share the link to Toyota website: https://toyota.com.my/more/contact-us I am pretty sure they will handle your case and call you back, and decide your appointment. |

QUOTE(xxxsopi @ May 11 2017, 12:29 PM) my car vios cvt j , during driving 160km/h ada rasa huyung at pendang highway.. Lol, I at 120km/h already felt goyang2. Seems like nobody knows/answer what's the cause, but I suspect it's the Vios soft suspension. Changing it to sports suspension will probably fix the problem but void your warranty.anybody knows the problem??? |

QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ May 7 2017, 08:56 AM) Do you hear it during rainy/wet days? I got really surprised but it only happened to me once. Not sure what's the problem, got another guy say the same thing. Also the Vios suspension is quite soft. If you carry passenger/heavy load, the ground clearance will be lowered a lot. |

QUOTE(lyod71 @ May 14 2017, 04:05 PM) Hi all, I have a question, does the window size in 2013 vios is the same with current gen vios? Because I saw the sunshade in Mr.diy for vios 2013, wondering if it can fit current gen vios If you mean the 3rd gen Vios (2013-2016), then there are the same.Unless you're talking about the 2003 2nd gen (dugong) vios, then of course it will be different |
