Hi vios owners,

i just gotten my Vios today.
been driving vios 1st gen, wanted to wait for the new 2017 (which was on display in Thailand) but that facelift is not coming to malaysia anytime soon.

first time driving CVT, although is similar to 4-speed auto, but need a little bit of getting use to it, especially during pickup and going uphill

Yeah, feel like lack of power. it feels like the more i floor the accelerator, the engine rev up but the power is not really picking up speed

tried it, when the SA teach me how to use it.
might tried using when going up hill, since i need to uphill when going home

compare my previous vios, it is slightly delayed, but not as much

after driving for 2 days:
the ride is smooth, with quite good NVH. the soft suspension and "big" 15" tyre (as in "thicker" 15" tyre, not those low profile 15", been using RE003 195/55/15 on my old vios) definitely doing a good job at absorbing those small pot holes and bumps
liking the 360 camera, make parking a lot easier, and no more reason cant park inside the parking box
the 5.1 metre radius, never knew it will come in handy, though it wont be that useful to me, but how i was wrong. make turning around easier especially in tight corners

and those faux leather plastic with stitching, sure looked like it is real leather

Guys, do you guys smell burnt rubber smell when you guys get your car?
it is almost a week since i got the car, clocking around 300km ODO reading, but i can still smell rubber burnt smell

amoura, my side mirror side normally everytime i lock the car

good to know i'm not alone in this matter.
maybe i will wash the car this weekend and see if it goes away.
else i will just let the SC know when i do the 1st service

1) it happens to me too. but mine happens randomly. doesnt matter if i off or not, it just happens

2) i'll try playing songs from my HP tomorrow and see if the display updates. i did try playing song through my HP but it was kinda soft so decided to stop. when testing didnt really take note of the display

you mean GX variance? the G doesnt have the kit option, the only way is get the GX variance.
honestly it depends on your need (as there are things to give and take), but so far it serves me well.

if i'm not mistaken, solar tint come with E spec, while G spec and above comes with security solar tint.

Done my first service last weekend. asked about the tyre smell and HUD keep asking for language settings.
i was told the tyre was still new, so it will have that smell, as for the HUD, it is "normal".

might be placebo effect, but now feel the car more "ooommph" going uphill not as bad as last time.
or maybe is just me, since i rev it more after the first service

overall, satisfied with the vios, but UMW could at least put in a better HUD as well as the cluster meter. no optitron meter is ok, but using sticker

BTW, can anyone explain how to see the maintenance package here:Vios Maintenance
let say i would like to use full synthetic oil during my second service oil change, so it should RM 229++, but when is the next service? service at 15k or 10k?

most likely be using fully synthetic as can reduce the time to go SC

basically nothing, they told it is like that. i asked about any new update for the HUD, they said no.
i hope they do look into the matter. now i just turn off the clock

mind telling what's the bill details?
from the toyota website, even if you select the 5W-40 FS oil, it should be only around RM369, unless there's additional things that they changed.

seems like they did additional petrol inj cleaner and petrol flush

same here.
but then changing means most likely voiding warranty.

would be nice if UMW could apoint official 3rd party accessories shop without voiding the warranty.

that the temp light.
if engine still cold, it will light blue, when in normal engine working temp it will goes off.
if reaching hot temp, it will light up red light

I'm sure you notice that there's no temp gauge at the speedo cluster area.

What's wrong with the head unit?

yup nothing worry about.
i dont really wait for the light to turn off, though i start the engine and let it idle for a min or so before driving (only in the morning) to let the engine warm up a little.

i just notice something lately, perhaps it was there all along but i didnt notice it.
1. there is a "squish" sound when i drive in the morning, after that no more. notice this sound for a few days. when driving no "squish" sound, but if stop the engine for few hours, the sound will come back when turning.
2.the engine sound kinda "rough" when driving around the 30 - 50 kph.

thinking of highlighting the issue when i do the 5k service.

when i first inquired about the issue, the SC told me it is normal. I went to the one next to the federal highway, next to honda SC.
Guess i might go to another SC for my 5k service.

Anyone can recommend good SC?



have you purchased from the the website before? thinking of getting steering cover and carpet

still thinking of whether want to buy from there or not.
maybe this weekend i will go to the car accessories shop and check out the price for mat and steering cover

thanks for the feedback, i will try to take note of the RPM when going around that speed.
but i do notice if i step up the gas pedal, the rough sound will be lower.

anyone notice this? seems like the pricing has gone down. and it is just over a month since i bought the car

ohhhhh, totally forgot about the insurance premium thingy, and i thought they dropped the price so fast

dav668, the rpm for 30-50kph is around 1k to 1.5k, so it might due to the low rpm.
most likely i would be going to puchong umw service center for my 5k service, if possible during weekdays. maybe they will provide slightly better service during weekdays.
i will inform them about this issue, along with the "squishy" sound and the HUD reset issue.
