absorber / spring too soft la damn. what a lousy. macam wira only

if change to stiffer absorber then the ride will become bumpy. Sigh..Have to choose comfort or bumpier ride.

which make huge different between changing spring and absorber and what is the recommended brand that suitable for Vios

I will say like reduce 50%. Not totally gone but it did low down the noise. biggrin.gif
It will take out the sharpness of the wind noise.
If i install just exactly the "door fin" lenth that 3rd gen vios have , it will just fit nice and no problem with open and close both front and back door.

But if install top over abit and try to cover the entire door gap (since the "door fin" did not reach until the top part ) , it will have rubber screeching sound and it will drop off when you open the back door and front door together.
If i drive with that condition i can hear rubber ratting sound as well. blink.gif

For horizontal margin it did not have problem because the rubber middle have space and it will just compress it self while door is closing.
*
Wow..Really need to very careful and precise when installing the rubber.
Do you mind to share out the picture of your installation especially top and bottom where you meant need to be exact. I would like to refer it as a guide when
I received my item.

Thanks.

Personally, the sound insulation does not help in reducing the wind noise. The noise is still as loud as it is.  hmm.gif I just fit it onto the fin with a double-sided tape.
*
Y u need double sided tape ? Thought this is just need to slip inside the fin will do.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks.

Sure , this is how i install on my door. Just follow exactly the fin position.
[attachmentid=6060033]
[attachmentid=6060034]
[attachmentid=6060041]

Some tips on the installation is the metal is really hard ( until finger pain ) so when you successfully install it, better dont take it out or else it will hurt your finger when you try to press it back when it become loose.

For checking the difference of the noise i take it out so many times and it become loose and i have hard time on my finger. rclxub.gif
I think it is different item . The one i using is not double side tape and is clip type.

Thanks. Will try to install tomorrow..
Oh ya, do it have any edge need to take care. Such as follow the direction of rubber to install ?
Do the rubber come with arrow to guide whether this side should face up or down

Just back from Toyota showroom for car services. They have a new offer to extend another 2 years warranty on top of given 3 years warranty for RM1590

Not sure it's a good or bad things. But Rm1590= for 2 years, that's too much
*
what did it cover in additional 2 years warranty? Only engine and gear box ?
Did it cover the expensive components like drive shaft, engine mounting suspension ?

Next Friday will be my second timer appointment to get my lower arm and engine mount fix @ Toyota Subang service center.

If it's still fail again, will look for another service center. Any recommend on which service center and who are more pro to this fixing? Pls advice.

Thanks

Is your car produce knocking sound when pass through the road bump? If yes, then there is no solution available from Toyota.

Based on latest information last week from Service Center.

What makes yous think they will since launching in 2013?
*
I got my car since last year june, after that I complain to Service center that my car have this kind of noise and according to them, mine is updated mounting which the sound is reduced but not completely gone if compare to 1t batch.

I'm not sure how true is that. But the last visit to service center a few weeks ago, heard from technician that
Vios have new improved engine mounting and no more sound after passed through the bump.

So I would like to check with the member here who just received the car recently, can you spotted that the
noise is still there ?

for high mileage car, better stick to XXw40 grade
perhaps your crankshaft gasket seal is aged causing the leaking into piston
*
Knewing that from Toyota service centre..
Semi Sync = 5-30W
Full Sync = 5-40W

What is your advise what is the suitable oil to use for car just for 1 year ?

Current car is the 3rd Gen J spec manual. Can I upgrade my tyres to 195/55/15? Any recommendations?
Thanks
*
I'm G Spec owner and I did upgraded my stock tyre from (185/60/R15) to Michelin PS3 (195/55/R15) using stock rim.

After changed, feel NO much different in the cornering. Maybe we need wider rim in order to feel the different.

This is how i compare because last time I owned a myvi, I changed stock tyre (14 inch) and change to 15 inch rim with PS3 tyre .. Can feel cornering is good and grippy.

Above is my personal experience.
