Entering the 3rd year with my VIOS, finally it's my turn to get the lower arm and engine mount change. Hope this will be the last fix.

They replaced with new designed parts or simply the exactly the same part?

After the replacement, no more "knocking" sound over bump?

will get mine done on this Friday. as whether the problems still occur or not, this uncertain. some have it still.. some are not

I see... hope your problem will gone for good. biggrin.gif

***********************************************************************

By the way, someone hit the back of my car last 2 months, and was doing third-party insurance claim in "Toyota Body & Paint" department.

I supposed to collect my car today, but they haven't get my car ready and the reason was: they need to replace my reverse sensor (although the sensor still working perfectly fine before I send my car in), they said they cannot simply cut and joint the wiring, so they have to replace the entire wiring and there is a lot of works.

They brought me to look at my car and holy cow! They removed 2 front seats, dismantle the whole dashboard!!!! I just hard to believe they need to almost blank-out the interior of the car just to replace a reverse sensor wiring? Can someone tell me if Toyota's service center not hiding something from me?

They need another 1 whole working day to put it all back in! bangwall.gif

my car also got bang from behind two days ago. police report was done and now waiting for the investigation result to be collected on next monday.
although it was not so serious but still have to replace rear bumper and the both bumper brackets. also have to do minor body alignment as the rear boot cannot be closed properly although the boot is not damaged.
*
So sorry to hear that... sad.gif

My friend who own a Vios 2nd Gen also got into accident several months back, from what he told me, the rear bumper cost 1K plus per piece!!! sweat.gif

Although I blame Toyota doing this kind of repair took quite long (see my case, sent my car in on 16th February, and today still can't collect my car), but they do things in more proper way. Absolutely not simply hide and cover up other damage or install non genuine parts. Even they spend the time to remove whole dashboard and seats just to replace the reverse sensor wiring. How can you find those roadside workshop do this for you? They will simply cut and joint the wires and deliver the car to you very fast. In worse case, they simply use back the old reverse sensor. brows.gif

The insurance approval was on 9th March, do you think it needs 1 month+ to repair this degree of damage?

yurs is much more serious than mine.

yes, 2nd gen rear bumper (rm600) + spray (rm300) of paint is around 1k. i believe 3rd gen is more expensive

but i wonder the reverse sensor cannot be unplugged from the harshness and just replace it? or all linked and cannot be separated? or the wire itself is damaged?
*
Yes, me too can't understand why is the wiring so complicated?
In fact, the sensor is still working fine before I send the car in.
Not sure why they still want to replace and also wonder why there's a lot of work.
Does that mean, if someone's reverse sensor faulty, they need to leave the car in service center for 2 days? doh.gif

Hi Vios Sifu
I just bought my vios
I want to ask , does anyone notice that when you releasing pressure of your foot from the brake padle you you hear a very soft 'motor spinning' sound around the area of your dash board ? When the car is not moving is more audible.
*
Are you sure that's sound from a "motor"?
Do you feel any performance issue with your brake?
Maybe air pocket trapped in your brake fluid piping?

Dear all sifu,

Wanna ask about my vios E spec 2016

How do I switch on my daytime running light? I thought it suppose to on when I start the engine?
Second, I heard that vios will auto lock the car when car speed exceed 20km/h or something like that? Or it's normal that I have to manually lock the car every time?
*
My Vios E (2015) doesn't have auto door lock system.
Hope 2016 edition car owner can confirm this for you.

Hi all,

My Vios mileage still less than 35k (2015 model), and I just recently noticed the steering wheel have some "free-play" and is making "kock kock" noise when shaking or turning the steering wheel like this, anyone know the cause of this? Is there a simple fix without going to service centre (hate the appointment and long wait time)?

I notice this after recent 30K service, with wheel alignment done in service centre. Not sure if their bad wheel alignment job caused this?

Thanks in advanced! smile.gif

I also have no idea... sweat.gif
Very irritating, if no one know a fix, then I will have to visit Toyota service centre again... bangwall.gif
