Just got back from CH last Monday. Stay at KRS Pines. RM120 for family room, 4 pax (1 queen bed & 2 single bed). The room is basic only, no phone, no air cond & fan (cold already lol) but it's clean & tidy. Quiet & relax environment. Suitable for backpackers & others if just want a place for sleep only. The girl & guy whose take care KRS Pines also very helpful & friendly.
I also met foreigners from Oman, French & Aussie while staying here. smile.gif

But if u someone whose need 3-5 star hotel services this not for you. tongue.gif

Booked Villa Dahlia aprtment for RM300 on tommorow. Anyone can advice the traffic and crowd at Cameron, as i saw from Heritage Tanah Rata webcam there is not much car moving around.

Btw, would like to drop by the watercress farm near EQ for lunch, anyone have the exact location or how to get there.

Wish it rain oso tomorrow so that the temperature can be cooler...... icon_idea.gif

Yes KRS is just a guest house not hotel but a very clean & quiet one... rclxms.gif BTW, all hotels in CH inc the 4star EQ/Straberry/Heritage even the 5 star CH resort also got no aircon what hmm.gif biggrin.gif ..Why need aircon when the hottest day in CH never exceed 25C! on cloudy day =19C & night temperature drop to 15C-17C!...Yes chit-chatting wth other guests are another advantages of staying at guest house.

Added on August 22, 2008, 9:49 amCH only jam during Public Holiday such as CNY, Hari Raya, National day & probably starting of school holidays. The jam will not be at Tanah Rata (Heritage) but at Berinchang & Kea Farm. ..Berinchang probably OK oledi after they implemented 1 way street..but I forsee continuous jam at Kea Farm area. (The highest Habitated area in CH)

U mean Watercrest steamboat restaurant? If yes it's located about 2KM further from EQ. u hv to pass thru another street market area (Butterfly farm) & therafter another 1KM on the right. However that's my 1st & last time going there...not nice & damn pricey steamboat dinner for 2 cost me RM50! - They dun charge per pax but on the individual items that u choose. 1st they charge on the soup base...I think about RM15 (Can't remember) than u choose the ingredient in plastic containers from as low as ~RM3 to RM10...So in order to get a full benefit of it..u must go in big group bcos no matter 2 or 5 ppl, the soup base carry the same price!

Planning to go to Cameron on end of next month[2D/1N or 3D/2N] with my gf , any recommendations on where to stay (budget but not bad wan la),
Places to visit, things to do, shopping? and others.
As my 1st time going there, don't really know the way around , so probably need to stop by tourist station to grab a map

Also can provide estimated budget for the above

Thanks you very much , appreciate it smile.gif

Thx stimix.

For WaterCrest Valley, you definately came across it if you drive from Triangkap to Brinchang. The set is pretty value for your money. We took the RM40 with 4 course (fry waterrest, soup, haruan fish, omllete)

Well Kea Farm as usual crowded as you approached from both direction. Watch out when you drive.

Staying at Dhalia along the main road is pretty noisy. As you can heard the car zooming uphill to brinchang from Tanah Rata. And the car park is insufficient at Dahlia, come back early else you end up park outside.

Moving up to brinchang from Dhalia you notice Straberry Park Resort which is 10 mins drive from mainroad and we did some discovery there, well to my surprise i should have book this instead of Dahlia. The surrounding is ambient and very suitable for relaxation, just like you visit europe!!!.

At Tanah Rata, Century or Heritage seem to be a good choice for place to overnight,

One thing i found on the shopping for vegetables, watchout some stall at Kea Farm selling rotten vege...you need some sort of experiences in selecting.

First Time visiting Pasar Malam at Brinchang, two rows strech along the main road. The stall mostly sell straberry and corn(mutiara) and i found the kuih kak is not tsaty but smell good, satay is okie...while the steam ubi is nice during cold evening.

After all the wether still is the main attraction for Cameron.

i stayed at bala for 1 night back in may...
the place is nice if you like quite place and old style building..
we stayed at suite room...the room is pretty roomy..
i;m not sure about other rooms condition though..can't comment on it

there are 2 queen size beds, sofa, tv, hot shower with bath tub etc..
and there's plenty of empty space left..
and the bala himself is quite friendly...

if you look at the main building and the surrounding, it's pretty scary...
but nothing weird happened though thumbup.gif

Any suggestion on good chinese restaurant @Kg Raja? or triangkap? Planning a lunch stop before check-in. Also, any place worth visiting ard that 2 place? I can then plan to visit along and do not have to drive back up again. Thx!

There are reasinable guestgse as mentioned in earlier posting such as KRS , Twin Peak, Cameronian Inn & more.(Within walking distance from the bus station.

Yes it is possible to walk & I hv seen lotsa Mat Salleh walking but u must be really strong because it's about 5KM up hill towards Brinchang & another 5km back to Tanah Rata biggrin.gif ..Well wth the cooler temperature, walking 10km should not be a problem hmm.gif
