Agreed wth Putraskyline recommendations. Actually most of the hotels are abit rundown oledi ...I hv not tried Casa De la rosa..but it's really look like a boutique opposite the golf course & nxt to CH Resort & always wth porche, ferrari outside the yard. Strawberry park although looks rundown but it's very clean & having gigantic 2 doors bathroom in their studio unit thumbup.gif Heritage also abit rundown but having big room & Tmnet hotspot

I hv stayed at Equatorial in 2000, and at that time (not so old) the hotel tower room is not bad clean & big & having a small heated swimming pool. Not sure those surrounding apartments (Abit rundown & some empty units) - Equatorial is frequented by Singaporean (Lotsa them there) so can't be so bad hmm.gif Only dun use the hotel lobby toilets & the almost deserted food court near the main road...)

If you prefer newer hotel, try Century Pine - surprising very clean, new & big room. I stayed at the old wing b4 they upgraded the multi story hotel..my only complain is the noisy running river beside the old wing & also the very early "morning call" biggrin.gif

I read in tripadvisor that Strawberry park is pretty run down (furniture wise and room condition. Can confirm that?

Yea, Century Pines is excellent. Location wise is ok, although some of the room near new wings are noisy as its beside the main road. while the old wing are beside a mosque. but generally it's one of the best at Camerons.

It depends on ur luck really.
some of the room are generally acceptable, some are quite good in condition.
some of them are utterly crap.

i guess i'll just stick with equatorial lo and see how it goes.

Added on August 6, 2008, 11:15 amgawd equatorial staff are really dense. I only asked for a quotation for upgrade to their deluxe room and they go cancel my original superior room reservation and booked me into their 900 bucks a night apartment suite. Idiots..

it tooks me 2 office day to finish the whole threads, wo biggrin.gif
I've been to Cameron several times, those threads made me recall back those memories I had. biggrin.gif

I was there last June, staying in Honeymoon Villa apartment.

Going again for 2 Nite stay this Septemeber. Am looking for bungalow/apartment with full amenities for 8-10ppl. Villa Dahlia sounds a good choice, anymore choices available? Price per nite?

The things I dont like to stay is Equatorial was a staff attitude. Because too many S'porean there and a lot of people stay there. they are not makes better services. I request a prayer mat , it took 8 hours to deliver . Lolz

Casa De La rosa was great amongst those hotel but a bit expensive than other competitors. Services are great like CH Resorts.

Bala is located about 1.2km from Tanah Rata & about 3km before Berinchang (i.e Rainbow hotel located)...It's rather small & going up the small bungalow is via a very-very narrow dead end path. Imagine another car coming down....Since it's small, probably having limited rooms & judging from the condition, I probably will not consider this as my sleep-over....scare of super natural shocking.gif

no, he mentioned that Bala's chalet is rather far from town.
Bala is located between Brinchang and Tanah Rata
While Rainbow is at the heart of Brinchang town

Yeah as what dristmeister explained...sorry to confuse u.. biggrin.gif ..At RM160, I would rather get the (Discounted-lah) Heritage/Strawberry/Casa Delarosa/Century Pine or even Equatorial rather than the pre-war bungalow of Bala's....Nevertheless I hv not stay there but entered there b4. It's gave me an eeerie feeling upon entering the compound!! (The whole area looks haunted to me but dun take my word, it's just my personal view...

Rainbow is smack in the ctr of Berinchang town..I din stay there too but for me I will not choose this either bcos of the non stop traffic at Berinchang town and u probably getting sleepness nite from passing lorries & cars... furthermore it's not a rated hotel but during weekend charging 3 star rate!!

Agree with Stimix, if you want to have good air/relax, don't take hotel located at town. If you like Old English themed holiday, Bala/Smokehouse/Lakehouse will suite you.

ooh.. i stayed in Smokehouse before....
very super expensive... RM 400++ per night...
nothing to shout about. food was extremely expensive.. not very nice...

Room was ok ok only.. old old dressing table, small small tv... bed with creaking sound.. ahahhaah!!!

definitely not worth for RM 400...

but the surrounding are nice... quiet... cold... not too far from town...

i think i m goin for bala next tues with my gf... hopefully it will be a good and peaceful stay... we are goin there on a small budget... staying 4 days & 3 nites...

called them jus now... they sounded so monotonous when i was making my reservation...

i chose bala mainly coz it looks quiet thus should be free from noise pollution and slightly cleaner air...

So far the best is either Mayflower (Read recent post that they hv moved to the Maybank row in Tanah Rata??) or Hong Kong Steamboat...not far from HSBC Tanah Rata...Rate about RM13/pax. Dun goto Brinchang..lousy & cut throat...Infact all the restaurants at Brinchang are slaughtering house & come wth lousy serving....The best & reasonable restaurants are all located at Tanah Rata
