Yes discussed somewhere in the middle of this thread...It is located somewhere high up near the summit of Gn Berinchang....To go there u need a bad condition car or 4WD as the road currently teruk....stop by at any campsites beside the roads towards Gn Berinchang & just walk in...& the mossy forest is in front of u...beware lotsa sampah & urine smell at the begining of the trackk...M'sian mentality!

Depending on how fast u drive...If one avg 110KM/hr on h/way and avg 70km/hr from Tapah to Tanah Rata..I will be about 3.3hr...i.e 1.7 hr up to Tapah & another 1.5 hr from Tapah to Tanah Rata
KL -Tapah ~160KM Tapah - CH ~70KM For easier ride but far & more toll use: KL-Spg Pulai - 200KM 2hr Spg Pulai -CH - 80KM - 1hr This post has been edited by stimix: Jul 19 2007, 03:40 PM |

QUOTE(mifard @ Jul 19 2007, 06:14 PM) my auntie went to CH and stayed at Heritage last weekend.. Nope...No one want to go CH for the diesel smell & noisy traffic....This is Brinchang...Yes Tanah Rata much quiet & rather relaxing..and this is the paradise not Brinchang!...Food in Tanah Rata is reasonable too compare to the ever cut throat pricing in Brinchang...Yes brinchang is happening but if u like noisy area..do so in brinchang but u really want cool soothing, quiet & far from noises...Heritage ..U won't regret...somemore do use the Tmnet hotspot service at the lobby if u feel boring....she recomended me to stay at any hotel in Brinchang.. because she told that Brinchang more happening at night, got pasar malam.. where else Tanah Rata more calm and relax.. arghh, i already booking Heritage.. call star regency, rainbow but fully booked.. quite regret now.. |

QUOTE(amyho3 @ Jul 23 2007, 02:35 PM) Hi, all. This post has been edited by stimix: Jul 31 2007, 04:53 PMI'd like to go to Greenhill Resort at Jalan Gereja, Tanah Rata. I believe it's nearby to Heritage as both are located on the same road. 1) May I know how to get there by bus? Not so sure but all public bus stop at Tanah Rata for sure 2) Are local taxis available at the Tanah Rata bus station? Yes the taxi is side by side wth the Bus station located at Tanah Rata 3) Which bus company is recommended? Not so sure 4) How much is the fare? Not so sure 5) Should I purchase the bus ticket in advance? Not so sure 6) If I were to stay at Jalan Gereja, are there any eateries within walking distance? Jln Gereja is just in front of Convent..actually I'm not sure where is this greehill resort probably to new. From the Convent to Tanah Rata eateries is just within walking distance & less than 500M away but if deep inside such as Heritage..u probably need to walk for about 1.5KM...Pls. help. Thanks! |

QUOTE(Felice821 @ Nov 12 2007, 11:54 AM) There are few choices of Hotel for me to considered now. I've stayed at 2 of the 4 resorts i.e Heritage & Century PinesHeritage hotel Hotel CAsa de la Rosa Hotel Rosa Passadena Century Pines Resort. In your guys opinion and expereince, which 1 is better? Rosa Passadena is in Middle of Brinchang town & the price & condition of the hotel dun looks inviting...Look-like 2 stars but wth >3Star pricng (>RM150)....Casa de La Rosa is on high side but should be nice..overlooking the gold course... Century new wing is new & clean (I stayed at the old wing b4 renovation)...Heritage abit old but nice environment & quiet + having TMnet hotspot |

QUOTE(hyuan85 @ Nov 30 2007, 01:29 AM) Guys.. i am going up this weekend.. wanna seek some advice Nah....Dun really like those hotels in Brinchang...I did check wth Iris b4..signboard advertised RM60++ but when checked >RM120!..terrible info!....Brinchang is abit noisy wth all the traffics & hotels located beside the roadside inc Iris hse & Hill Garden. I stayed twice at Country Lodge. Although quiet on top of the hill overlooking Brinchang but abit old & not cheap too..price >RM160 during weekend for an old & not so clean hotel! And the food in Brinchang is just like slauthering house..damn pricy and tastelessAny1 stayed in Country Lodge Resort, Iris House Hotel or Hill Garden Hotel before? Any comments on those hotels? Thankss For CH, It will be better staying at quiet hotels far away from main roads & the best town so far (for me) is still Tanah Rata. bcos it is not so busy as brinchang & the food there are much better & cheaper! |

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Dec 4 2007, 04:48 PM) I really not recommend to visit cameron without own transport, since all of the attractions spread out widely. Haha..FYI I hv seen Mat Salleh walking from the main road to Sg Palas Tea Plantation! & even walking from Tanah Rata to Brinchang....Only for those wth strong stamina....Yeap no transport really susah..but there are full day package too cater for those w/out transport (stall just beside the Post Office...)..can try to check...Probably ~RM50/pax/day... (Not sure never bother to check Taking taxi up there also will be super expensive, and buses are not reliable. Walking? That will kill you pretty fast as it's hilly there. There's many places is only accessible with own transport like both Boh tea plantation. If really don't have own transport, you might need to resort to joining a day tour. |

Anyway here is one of many link of the FAQ u needed : http://www.cameron-highlands.com/getting-there.html How far - 3.5 hrs journey from KL (~270km)..Nearest from KL is using the old windy road from Tapah (1.5hr from Tapah) or u prefer Highway, use Simpang Pulai to CH about 45min away only) but total distance will be longer & number of hours using both route is actually the same 3.5 hrs from KL... U can use Genting Highland or even Fraser Hill way too (Which I did recently)....Goto Bentong, Raub, Lipis, Gua Musang & thereafter CH...Total hours about 7hrs!! Both restaurants also offer Ying-yong soup + herbal soup too...HK retaurant also famous for curry fish head.
On Hotels, I stayed in all the mentioned hotels ..and the best still strawberry although abit old. - I stayed at the old wing of century b4 the add the new wing and I can tell u the old wing is just beside the stream & not far from the mosque...so abit noise pollution-lah....Heritage is nice also and for me although old but better than the newer & noisy/ tiny room century (Old wing-lah)..Straberry is high on top of the mountain summit ..so the sceneries & the size of the room is great...The Bathrooom is as big as the whole room itself! So my recommendation- strawberry For time saving & cost effectiveness as I go up CH almost 4-5 times yearly, nowadays I only stay at budget Hotel wth attached bathroom which cost me <RM70/nite...I like Twin pines & its sister KRS guest house...deap inside the alley at the back of Tanah Rata Maybank..no need booking..always available even during Hari Raya, CNY or Cristmas! QUOTE(-nICkY- @ Feb 29 2008, 10:22 AM) Hahaha! Then i should go to HK then Which restaurant got ying yang steamboat? Which food will b nicer, fresh n better? I plan to stay at Century Pines, any problem there? As i see from the Heritage page, their room quite old n not nice but Century Pines are not bad...how about Strawberry compare with Century Pines? |

Strawberry is abit old & authentic swiss design...no new wing. the new & old wing thingy is Century pines...& I forgot to mentioned that strawberry is abit far on top of summit of a mountain in between Brinchang & Tanah Rata....so u really need transport as the road leading up to strawberry is abit steep & far away from the main road. Not adviseable for those without transport..it's about 4km away from both Bringchang & Tanah Rata!
For convenient & nearer to Tanah rata town....suggest getting Century Pine..walking disatnce away from the town. Heritage u need to walk up the hill unless u can find a shortcut via the convent school in front of Tanah Rata town BTW, saw your earlier query on how to go to Gunung brinchang...first go all the way to Kea Farm. After 1km from Equatorial, you will reach another road side stalls There is a signboard going to Boh Tea Plantation - Sg Palas & Gn Brinchang..turn left at the only junction at the road side stall..Be carefull as the road can only accomodate 1 car or 2 kancil at a time...so u really hv to be carefull here..once u reach the junction about 3KM from the main road, to the right is Boh Sg Palas & to the left is to Gn Brinchang from this jucntion it's only ~5km uphill to Gn Brinchang.....A must for those going to CH...That's the highest road in Pen Malaysia at 2033M or 6666ft! nice view up there.. QUOTE(-nICkY- @ Feb 29 2008, 01:24 PM) Yeah, i stayed there before, not the ideal stay, not worth for the $$$. Good luck! This post has been edited by stimix: Mar 1 2008, 12:59 PMSounds Strawberry Hotel is the best but which wing i should choose? New or old wing? Strawberry is located at Tanah Rata? |

Yes don't go there wth smaller cc car.. Atleast use car >1500cc. Manual car is better as it will be taxing to the auto unless u are using >1500cc auto car
The road up there as at Dec'07 is not so bad...except the narrow road just at the mid span of the mountain near the junction to Boh Sg Palas tea plantation..On my way up there, there is one S'pore Hyundai Trajet got stucked in the potholes while trying to avoid another coming car...Hv to help the poor driver.. Here is the gps maps to the top courtesy of malsingmap.com wth the mark on narrow road & bad condition area (Only that area is bad..others is OK): ![]() QUOTE(laichong @ Mar 1 2008, 12:14 PM) |

Here is the map to robinson fall...Therte is an existing walking trail up to the junction hiking up to Gunung Beremban..then the trail getting abit bad but still OK for another 400m before u reaching the fall..But beware, the location shown in the maps & in blue "Robinson fall" is not the main fall but the starting fall which is not worthwhile..& small (Man Made!)..u need to walk thru another 1KM South of the "blue marking" to the one 1 denote as "Actual location of the fall. (This probably due to previous malsingmaps tracker did not reach the actual fall & contributed the wrong location
The 2nd photo is the real robinson fall..If u reach this point u will be rewarded wth the view. ![]() ![]() QUOTE(-nICkY- @ Mar 2 2008, 06:53 PM) |

Yes.. I was there in Oct'07. Not really far..u can park ur car somewhere near the trail head (Trail no9) & cross over to the other side of the river...just folow the trail beside the river until u reach the first fall (Man-made) ~300M from the parking. & then probably walk another 1Km to the fall..but for sure u can't swimm there...That's the photo I taken from opposite the fall right where I stand on the trail. Small -yes.. & water quality suxx big time..bcos of the over developement in CH!....No way U or me going to swim on the same water that flow from the same river/big drain opposite Tanah Rata town centre!!!

Depend on timing-lah..during peak season, for sure u b stucked in the jam! Not to Gn Berinchang but jam bcos more ppl goto Sg Palas Boh Tea plantation using the same narrow road!!
But on Gn Berinchang yeap not many will go up...The worry is not going up but the jam at the narrow entrance to Sg Palas!..There was once years back on my way up..I quarel wth one Indian Bas Sekolah driver b'cos of the narrow road!..Also on the way the u can see the slope been badly sctrecth... QUOTE(-nICkY- @ Mar 3 2008, 02:04 PM) Ohhh...then we should organize a trip to track the Gunung Irau. Haha! This post has been edited by stimix: Mar 3 2008, 02:30 PMAnyway, thanks for the info bro.
