I am not joking, i have tried and worked for me. Maybe it works for u. Take the hdd, seal it in plastic. Put in freezer for 1 night. After that, plug it straight away to ur mobo. No need to wait until its warm again. A friend suggested me this method 8 years ago n it really worked! I know how it feels like to lose all precious data in corrupted hdd. Now i always change my hdd when warranty expire.

If it is a desktop HD, take out the HD, connect it to a external USB SATA cable, connect it to another working PC and copy all your data to that PC. Normally it works that way. But not sure how to copy a laptop HD though.

You can also use data recovery tools to recover files from faulty HD as well. One of my favourite is Get Data Back which have helped me recover data many times before.

Dear all,
Thanks for all the advice
I tried the USB to sata cable but it still couldn't detect the HDD. Software tools didn't work.
A Fren of mine recommended Kendo sales & service located along LDP highway.
They are able to recover the data and only charge me rm300 for 80gb data recovery
