Penat bro, semalam geocaching with MGS : PO walk until i lose 2 pants sizes already.
Well, basically there will be map packs distributed via UMD discs once they are ready, but at the moment, only Japan maps are available. There is also an astronomy program/game called Planetarium Curator Ohira Takayuki Kanshuu: Home Star Portable that also uses the GPS addon, as it tracks your position on Earth and displays the star positions overhead. I've ordered that through PA as well.
But its implementation on MGS: PO is very intriguing and exciting. Imagine you going on a treasure hunt, with the radar beeping louder and faster as you get to the geocaching spot the game asks you to, and as you reach it, you can recruit more soldiers for your game. I tried it yesterday night, but ideally, geocaching requires two person, one to drive and one to navigate. The closest geocache spot i got yesterday was north of KLCC, somewhere in the vicinity of that flyover heading towards Jalan Tun Razak. Walking on that flyover would mean SUICIDE, but driving would be okay, with one guy at the wheel and the other putting the PSP with the game on and the GPS addon, outside the car window. The GPS signal weakens if its not on open sky, and this includes inside the car (perhaps okay on the windscreen atop the dashboard), or blocked from the satellite view by high walls ( i got disconnected while i was walking close to the Twin Towers, the signal got blocked by the high walls).
This is very exciting for me, because of my work as well. As i fly across to my destination, i can turn the PSP with GPS addon on, and see if there are special geocache spots within my flight track. I can also try this at my nightstop places, for example during my stay in Melbourne or Auckland later, the geocache spots might lead to special places within these places.
