sumbody hav any idea what price of the psp slim?
*
Saw from Yes-Asia website that the PSP Slim is going for roughly about RM 900+. Not sure how true could they be though as i remember seeing some announcement somewhere that it will be about USD 229.99 (IIRC)..

Guess we need to wait till official announcement from Sony though..

so after this no more stories about the new psp having lesser playing time or weaker battery..
This is more like teh correct story...and Sony will actually comeout with a separate battry cover if you decide to put in the old batt,,,but have to buy it separately though...

*
Yea, thats how the battery life story goes. But to be honest, not many people will look into the seperate battery option. The reason for me is, IF they are going to use those old, bulky battery, even with a seperate battery cover, it is not going to look nice. It will cause the PSP SLIM to look THICK. This might lead to it looking not nice and doesn't feel good when holding as well..Thats my assumption though.. smile.gif

Riviera, is it good? Interested to try that out though..LOL...

1 more thing, had anyone encountered any issue with 3.52 M33 firmware thus far? Like unable to play certain games without UMD?

Yeah, I was about to ask the same question.
Anyone experiencing any UNSTABLE stuffs with the 3.52 M33-2? I mean, been hearing rumours about it. Heard that it's 'UN-STA-BLE' (read it sarcastically). Any experience? Or is it only a rumour shopkeepers use to 'sell-off' their UMDs with each 3.40 OE-A firmware?
*
Well, bernard told me that the 3.51 M33 does not need any UMD at the meantime. Not sure about future games though..

He offered to sell me a UMD at a cheap price IF i need it but insist that i do not need it at the moment. So, i am not sure whether i really need it or not. But my cousin told me, from his research, it does seem that 3.52 M33 is having certain issues like needing UMD to run certain games. So, i really need someone who is using the 3.52 to clarify this matter. As for 3.51 M33, i had tried over 50 games on my PSP and had not meet this issue until now...

I've been using 3.52 M33-2, and so far no problems at all. Except for yesterday when I tried to delete a saved Virtual Tennis 3 game within the game (maybe it's the game). It didn't delete, black screen but home button is still working. Hmmm, maybe it ain't much of a problem.
*
IC, i have yet to meet such problem though..LOL...Cause i am interested in flashing the firmware but i am afraid, by doing that myself, i might cause the PSP to be bricked. Is it hard to flash on our own?

One more thing, i converted an animation just to test out on my PSP yesterday and put it under the video section. Heard from bernard there is one more folder where i can put my movies in which is called MP_ROOT. However, inside, there is too many sub folders. Which one i should put the movie in?

For

AVC format - MP_ROOT > 100ANV01
MPEG4 format - MP_ROOT > 100MNV01

So, you need to check whether your videos was converted using AVC or MPEG4 encoding.
*
IC, I think mine is MPEG4-AVC or something like that..LOL...

As off now, i am putting it on "Video" folder instead of MP-ROOT. What difference does it makes putting it on MP_ROOT or Video folder?

The difference is as mentioned by ffrulz, if you use VIDEO folder, you can rename your videos to whatever names you want. So, you can recognize what movie you;re putting in. So, instead of M4V1234567.mp4, we can just put Lord of The Rings.mp4.  brows.gif
*
IC, doesnt this mean that putting the video in the "Video" folder is better than MP_ROOT? Renaming wise, i did it during conversion time though. Now using PSP9 as video converter. Looking to get WinAvi to try it out though...

Yeah, during early days of PSP, we're using the MP_ROOT folder. Now, I think most of us are using the VIDEO folder. Easier.
*
IC, then is it possible to delete the MP_ROOT folder? Would it cause any clashes with the PSP?

Watching movies is nice on the PSP. Way bettttterrr than watching it using the Handphone..LOL..Its just that the sound is too low during noisy environment.

MW is no exception.

but desperate times call for desperate measures sleep.gif

LOL..Yea, i understand. Maybe its because i tried MW on PC before and that is way better than what i expected on the PSP (Maybe i expect too much tongue.gif )..Anyway, ridge racer is nice. Is there any other nice racing games around?

Besides, anyone knows where can i get nice wrist strap for the PSP?

u guys seem like to watch movie in psp
can watch drama at psp ma??hehe
but most of the drama is rm or AVI file oh........any software will support???
if can, sure need to get 8GB MSPD ya!!!!!
*
Well, at first, i tried to convert a movie just to test out the video capability of the PSP.

But after i did and watch it, i noticed that its WAYYYYYY better than watching movies on my stupid, small screen HP. The quality is nice, the sound is OK (using the PSP speakers). You can watch any movies but you need to convert the files to MP4 format first..

im going to buy a psp soon...may i know what is the best firmware you guyrs recommend....which from what i know is homebrew...which can play iso game...
i tried a shop and he said his is v3.1 something but that time im not sure about all the downgrade thingy...i just wan a safe firmware...cause im scare to downgrade of anything which will maybe cvause brick...
so pls recommend me the firmware..latest and best (have most of the function)..thax
*
As off now, the latest should be 3.52 M33 (which rev i am not sure) and it should be the best around. Did somehow heard about some problem regarding "certain" games could not be played without UMD but that had not been proven by users here thus far. So, i guess it should be the best here. I am personally using 3.51 M33-7 which is good until now. Have yet to encounter any problem..

QUOTE(young_soul @ Aug 14 2007, 10:58 AM)
question...I'm also planning to get a PSP soon. Should I just wait for the slimmer PSP since its coming out in a month's time? And...what is rev?
*
Well, i asked myself that question before. This is what i considered last time and make sure you think about it properly :

1. Do you need the PSP now badly? How irresistable is it to you? Can you wait?

2. Do you need the extra features like TV Out?

3. Do you like it slimmer?

From all the above, the main question that is bothering me about the PSP Slim is, when is it coming out and will it be able to support custom firmwares? I personally could not wait any longer than this and decided to get one for myself. Had yet to regret the decision here as i really do not need the extra features of PSP Slim. Current PSP is nice enough to play around for quite some time..

Besides, i really dont know how long the waiting game will be. Not to mention, how much will it cost when arrives. As i said earlier, if you could wait, that would be the better choice. Because, if you realise you dont like the PSP Slim, you MIGHT be able to get the older PSP at a cheaper price..

That mean cannot watch rm or avi file directly in the PSP??? blush.gif
i thought got some psp software can make it  hmm.gif
anyway which video convert software u guys recommend??  brows.gif
*
I am currently using PSP9 Video Converter. Quite easy to use and good, friendly interface. Maybe there is better ones out there though..

Tried WinAvi To MP4 converter but doesn't seem to like it.

About watching those directly, i dont think its possible. Unless there is any 3rd party software around to do so..

For a handheld to perform like the PS3 is............. unsure.gif

LOL..Yea, i somehow agree. I was actually quite surprise by how the graphics on the PSP performs. Maybe i am still in those old ages consoles but the moment i check out the games and their graphics, i was surprise that a device this small with that HUGE screen are able to generate such nice graphics..LOL..

Time to get addicted to other games already. My Bleach 3 is done, Ridge Racer is getting boring. Thinking of going for Killzone Revelation but scared i will be too addicted with it..LOL..

Yes..via wifi. U need to download an update to that game before u can see the wifi online option. Look at Killzone: Liberation thread. I think it has the link to download the update.
IC, thanks alot for the information there. Does this mean other games also can have Wifi Online option features?

QUOTE(Lakum @ Aug 16 2007, 10:11 AM)
Nope...not working. Need an UMD. Latest custom firmware work without UMD. That is for both Monster Hunter Freedom and Monster Hunter Portable 2nd.
*
I have tested Monster Hunter Freedom on my 3.51 M33 before. Does not need UMD to play..
