scotty: Which SIGMA lens have you tested ? Am looking for a good macro lens. But majority seems to only manual focus with exception with Sigma HSM lense and nothing from Tamron. The other concern is metering and image quality on the macro lens

Hi guys !! I've juz got my d40 today Soooo happy hehe ... 1 quick question here :

The manual says 90 minutes is enough for charging of the battery ... but since it's a new battery .. do i need to charge it longer than that ? Usually is 8 hours is it ? How long do i need to charge the new battery ?

Hey guys i'm back again I know that D40 .. or even most/all DSLR has a life spent or so called the Shutter count ... once reach max ... hav to change ... i'm aware of that ... now i wann ask :

Does the Flash has a "use-life" as well ? Like after how many burst then the flash will die ? I moved from my hp SEK800i straight to DSLR so dunno much haha ... my hp has flash life Juz wondering D40 got onot oni Coz i keep dun dare fire flash haha

nope, no idea about olympus. Even if I have the $$, im not even sure if I want to spend my $$ on the D80 either. The D80 is very close to "perfect" for the price, but too bad nikon screwed up the matrix metering. If they fix the metering problem, it's one hell of a camera! Im guessing the next generation nikon slr will address all the issues on the D80 (matrix metering problem), D200 (problem with rendering blue/yellowish-greenish cast/nosie), d2xs (noise). If they do that, it'd be awesome!

Flash is essential in photography, you can't expect the weather to be perfect every day unless you deliberately wait for it. It's always good to bring 2 flash out if you have the room to carry them

what happen to the D80 matrix metering System?
if cannot bear it just as well as stick to 'M'aster Mode
