QUOTE(szehoo11 @ Apr 5 2007, 02:03 PM)
1) you guys think the price will drop?
wont drop much;p
maybe slightly a bit

QUOTE(szehoo11 @ Apr 5 2007, 02:03 PM)
"This G-type Nikkor lens is designed with no aperture rings, and offers easier, virtually mistake-free operation because the aperture does not need to be set to minimum."
2) what do they mean no aperture rings?
Means aperture is selected from ur camera body.

QUOTE(szehoo11 @ Apr 5 2007, 02:03 PM)
"# VR feature will only work with Nikon's D100, D200 & D1 and D2-series, or any newer model camera.
# AF-S feature is not supported by certain camera models. Please click here for a list of compatible models."
3) is it fully compatible with my D40?
D40 no problem with VR and AF-S

QUOTE(szehoo11 @ Apr 5 2007, 02:03 PM)

QUOTE(Wifi_One @ Apr 6 2007, 04:02 PM)
i just tried the 55-200mm AFS Vr lens..  not too bad.. but could be better. considering the price, i almost bought that unit.. when rotating the zoom to 200mm there's a click sound.. dunno whether it's meant to be. asked the shop owner.. he also not sure..

but few things for sure..

1. focusing very slow.. took me a few attempts to focus.. (maybe due to the fact that it was a d70 old body)

2. VR not really VR at 200mm... was trying my best to get the right shot at max 200, 5.6 and iso 800.. still look abit blur and dark.. (0 compensation. (again maybe due to the fact that it was a d70 old body)
took 5 photos.. one turn out sharp. the rest all blurrish..

no prob focusing with anything below 100mm

apart from that...

it's really light and made in china. came with lens hood and a leather bag..

can someone go try another unit to c if rotating betweem 135 and 200 got click noise..

i didn't manage to bring my d40.. so all tested with a d70 body.

thanks...

what is the shutter when u get blur
at 200mm vR doesnt help much in low shutter

considering indoor. f/5.6 200mm focus is indeed very slow

shin chan, wat is the advantages of G-lens? maybe ot got sumthing i guess instead of having no aperture control on lens itself....
*
G Series are Nikon newest AF lenses with no aperture ring.
Cannot be used in manual focus camera since cannot set aperture.

simplify. just a label.
