wow didn't expect it couldn't even match the aging Snapdragon 801 or even 800 in raw processing power.

Adreno 330 also much better than Mali T628MP4.

Cannot be so low for Antutu. My Huawei P8 Kirin 930 also can get around 49k already
*
Snapdragon 801 devices hovering around 44k-45k
but then again snapdragon 801 is already more than a year old.

Kirin 935 has better CPU, but GPU is nowhere near Adreno 330. Can see huge different on heavg games. A task where GPU kicks in.

Redmi note 2>>>honor7 , RIP

Redmi Note 2 > Honor 7 only in performance, but loses out in other aspects.
RN 2 is good for what it worth.

Honor 7 offers superior battery life, camera, screen and build quality.
These justify Honor 7's higher price.

Guys, just wondering:

Honor 7, Honor G8, One plus Two

Can help me to enlighten pro and con? biggrin.gif Torn torn torn.

Honor 7 better proc than G8 and 1+2
G8 got better cam than Honor 7
1+2 got better cam than H7 and stock android flavor

There's no way Kirin 935 is better than Snapdragon 810.
Especially in GPU, Adreno 430 smokes Kirin 935 miles away.

Even if the Snapdragon 810 is throttled down by excessive heat, it is still quicker than Kirin 935.

I can hardly tell difference in photo quality between these three (rear camera... Front camera H7 wins hands down)
But in video, G8 and 1+2 has upper advantage with OIS.

Btw, Honor 7 offers the widest dynamic range out of three.
G8 uses back the same RGBW Sony Sensor from Huawei P8.

I checked the comparison at Trustedreview, low light H7 vs 1+2 indeed got different and 1+2 better. But, don't really mind the difference tho because still less noise than my ZenFone 2 cam.
Oh. I see. I plan to get from Maxis deal. Are they official distro for 1+2 by Maxis too? Done a short google search, d
*
Yeah, 1+2 should outperform H7 in low light.
1+2 sensor is Omnivision OV13860 with slightly bigger pixel size (1.3um) compared to Honor 7's Sony IMX230 (1.12um) which helps in low light. Also, OIS in 1+2 helps reduce blurry images by eliminating handshakes and enable longer shutter speed to reduce ISO sensitivity.

But IMX230 is also a really superior of its own. IMHO, Honor 7 is better than 1+2 in good lighting.

Haha Zenfone. I had very bad experience with them.
I used Zenfone 5 before. Battery life and camera is really bad. Video recording is like 15fps in low light lol doh.gif
Same issues with Zenfone 2, battery life and camera doesn't deliver at all sweat.gif

I expect too much from mid entry phone. Haha. Actually I plan to get H7 but my Note 2 is dead for no reason, I can't wait online purchase at Miri since I really need a phone. I guess no choice, stay with ZenFone 2 or, get H7 or G8. Oops.
*
If between G8 and H7, I will go with H7.
Simply because Kirin 935 is much much more capable than Snapdragon 615.

Both using Cortex-A53 but Kirin 935 is using enhanced version Cortex-A53e which enables them to run at much higher CPU frequency without compromising power consumption and heat.

The GPU in the Honor 7 performs ever so slightly better than G8's Adreno 405, too.

Camera is equally good on both. H7 offers more capable sensor with phase detection auto focus, while the G8 offers OIS

I also expect H7 to have much better display since it is using IPS-NEO (Xperia Z3's display) whereas the G8 is using standard IPS. The differences are deeper black (hence, higher contrast ratio) and less power hungry.

Guys,
Interested to buy this phone for my mom
But how bout battery life if only occasionally check for whatsapp, mostly used for call, wifi always on n use mobile data outside home?
Can it last until 2 days with this light usage?
*
It easily last 1.5 days (data) ~ 2 days (wifi) with light usage smile.gif
My gf is a social heavy user and still get her through a day..fb, insta, whatsapp, selfies..and whatnot.
Screen on time is 4.5~5 hours with 30%++ battery left at the end of the day.

Good to hear that. Taking photos with phone is the least priority in my requirement haha. Do u experience hiccups or spikes with usage of H7, in normal tasks like facebook, whatapps, browsing etc. SD810 is good to have but for light gamer like me won't put it into good use.

My requirements are pretty simple like receiving messages and email notifications on time, fast locking GPS, smooth browsing and fluid in operating between different social apps. Previously using some other UI giving me troubles in receiving email and messages notifications.

The next close choice is the nexus 5x but is rather expensive at rm1.9k. Using SD808 and 2gb ram only, the only good thing about it is the stock android experience. But way more expensive than H7.
*
Honor 7 can easily handle your needs.
Kirin 935 and Snapdragon 810 are not too far apart in CPU performance, but the Adreno 430 GPU in SD810 is what destroys Mali-T628 MP4 in Kirin 935. So, if you're not gaming, Kirin 935 will do as fine as SD810.

If you consider Nexus 5X, do consider Xiaomi Mi4C too?
Similar specs, but cheaper. Snapdragon 808 + 3GB RAM + 32GB storage for RM1.2K

True that about the CPU and GPU performance. That's why I'm more concern about the software reliability and fluidity rather than processing power as I'm a light user.

Came across with XiaoMi devices, I guess MIUI is just not my cup of tea, but my gf is enjoying MIUI with her Mi3 haha. Another thing is that i always have the urge to try new android version when it comes out. While Mi3 is still with KitKat if not mistaken, so I ruled XiaoMi out.
*
yeah, Mi seems to not follow Google's version updates.
But it's very stable on my Mi Note so far (Android 5.0.2)

However, I conclude EMUI is doing better. My gf has no issues whatsoever with her H7. She's a mid-heavy user. rclxms.gif

EMUI fly smoothly even with much lower-tier Kirin 620 of the Honor 4X.

Firmware updates definitely is a marketing tricks.
Newer model shipped with updated software is one of the trick to make customers upgrade their old smartphones.

I jumped from Mi3 (4.4.4) to Mi4i (5.0.2) and to Mi Note (4.4.4)
Honestly can't tell any experience difference between them though.

Mi Note however, comes with a number of extra features which is again some of the features is a marketing tricks rather than hardware limitation of lower tier devices
