EMUI have their own power management that sometimes isnt suitable with certain app push/pull service windows thus having issue with some apps.

try to wipe cache partition and see any fix ?

anyone able to get rid of the soft keys at the bottom? I know China models can do this but our firmware disallows this. I wonder if anyone tried Nova Launcher prime? Even if its transparent it would be nice, wasting valuable space at the bottom esp in apps like waze, FB etc...home screen is ok as its transparet

I have tried to check the battery management, the phone is set to use the highest performance (mean consume battery fastest) mode.
So the battery management thing is not the source of the problem.

I have tried an experiment today.

If I was to keep the app in the background, mean if I click on the right bottom button and the medication reminder app is in the list of all background app, then the reminder function works perfectly fine.

As soon as I clear the app from background, nothing work anymore.

I have tried the app in another phone (Sony) and regardless of whether I clear or do not clear the app in background, it functions as expected so I think the app has no bug.

So then i left to suspect the Honor 7 itself. I am very sure I have the setting in the phone to include this app as a protected background app. So it should run even if I manually clear it from background.

any idea what else I can do?

A side note, the Honor 7 is set to Chinese, as my parent only know to read Chinese. The app is also installed in Chinese although it has English version as well.

I tested mine unit, original firmware is b120. Restart the phone and do nothing. using my wife wechat, whatsapp, messenger me. all works well, popup msg immediately.

2nd test, clear all the background apps and lock the phone. Resend to my wechat, whatsapp, messenger, outlook & gmail. All the apps are working well, notify me immediately.

I am using Smart since beginning.

Mine is updated to B120, also face notification issue sometimes.

i've just done wipe cache partition
n now seems like all push notification runs fine

will wipe cache affect your files/data?

nope

it just remove the old cache from ur previous android version

but ur stored password/cookies for browser will be gone

it will come back...

i wiped my cache a few times already

Anyone encounter a very strange behavior with smart key? I just notice that it can't screen capture by using the smart key for Tower of Savior ( which was ok a few weeks back ), but the double knock do work in screen capturing TOS. The smart key work with screen capturing Coc, Thunder Raid etc..
