multiple accounts make the cheat easier

however, we mods have your ip add everytime anyone make a post - just to compare and detect multiple accounts

what about bank accounts?

Any scamming attempt means you have to give out your name and bank account number right? Isnt this another way to "expose" your identity?

seller can get cheated also

last month or something like that, i sold some toys to a familiar customer for RM520, he bank in the money through Maybank, then later that night i meet him and gave him his purchases, everything seems fine and ok (he is a lyn member)

then after a few days, Maybank Penang HQ called me and asked me that i sell IPOD through the Internet ? i say no and ask why, the bank officer told me that a foreigner went to the bank and complaint that someone has asked him to bank in RM520 to my account for a IPOD Nano 2GB !!!

then many question pop-up:
1- the foreigner lost his brain or what, an Ipod Nano 2GB cost RM520 ???
2- my customer went to con the foreigner then ask the foreigner to bank in money to my account ?
3- or the foreigner simply make up a story to earn some money ?

that time i also duno what to do, so i tell the bank officer, you go report police, do whatever you want, then i called my mom lawyer, the lawyer told me no need to be scare, the bank has nothing ! if the bank has any type of evidence to prove that i con, they already report police and catch me while i should go report police about my customer

from that day onwards, i cant find that particular customer, i think he change his phone number, i pm him many time, no reply at all, but i still can see him online sometime at lyn

1) Sell bad stuff as good stuff
2) Only Poslaju no COD
3) After buyer received the stuff and find out it's BAD, blame Poslaju for damaging the stuff, and void the warranty due to postman's fault
4) In case buyer crying, just refund 50% of the money and you still earn another 50%

actually the conman only send an empty box and blame the courrier service ppl tat they stole the contents inside

tats why next time when you go to the courrier office to collect the parcel (yes dun let them deliver to your hse, call them in advance and tell the courrier office tat you will come to the office to self collect by giving them the tracking number)....OPEN the parcel in front of the courrier ppl and bring along a camera to snap the pic if you discover fraud.

Copied from dispute centre :

Step 1)
Negotiation done between fake seller and 3rd party seller
3rd party seller <-------------------------------------> Fake Seller

Step 2)
Fake seller ask you to bank in to 3rd party seller.
You as the buyer bank in to 3rd party seller, but expecting goods from fake seller.
3rd party seller <--------------------------------------> YOU

Step 3)
3rd party seller send goods to fake seller

Step 4)
YOU eat wind

And 3rd party seller don't know your existance.

suggestion....

maybe those with bulk order/ or cash first basis must registered with lyn their bank accounts nos and ic nos... these will be displayed in a locked signature or something so that everyone can view it and is transparent... then only they can trade... else... is COD...

as for postage faulty items frauds... can't do anything... just trust with the seller and buyer....

How to cheat ppl on LYN?
wow thread starter mmg creative tongue.gif

well, imo, as a newbie, it's no ez to cheat on LYN (for expensive stuff like LCD monitor, conroe processor). COD only can success. usually I think the best initial step is to gain other forumers' trust, (if wanna catch big fish). After some successful trades (sold), maybe can start project liao lo.. Like maybe processor.. or something expensive. coz forumers sure won't trust newbies easily since there are already so many newbies con cases happened here..

another one is quite common, that's to blame the postman.
when it comes to such situation, it's hard to say who's the conman: postman? or the seller? and thus, "trust" is very important... if don't trust seller, then better don't trade with him/her to prevent getting cheated.

to prevent getting conned, of course the best way is to COD lo.. but for edison's case.. 1st time I heard such case.. and that buyer (finalsky) is really a smart arse. lol. I agree with howeijie, cheat ppl here (or anywhere else) wont fatt tat one. conners will only end up being hunted by those who got conned.

COD is good but most of the seller are at KL or selangor...
So ppl like me from penang cant always go down to KL jus for a COD.
So my 2cents is always find a seller with good reputation with reasonable prices of course...

Cheap things are never good,
Good things are never cheap.

This is the law of all trades....LOL

MOD, If someone get cheated, what's the action taken by you guys? Log a polis report? When trades being done in LYN getting higher and higher in term of RM, there's must be some protection by LYN operators right?

Maybe selling some expensive things to newbies with cheap price.. and then report police after newbies receive item.. say the newbies steal / found ur lost item...
Sure newbie will defence himself.. like "no.. no officer he sold me that i-Pod 10Gb with 200ringgit.. bla bla bla..."
Then we say.. where got i-pod selling 200ringgit one.. thts too cheap!!
haha... after get item back sell it again haha..

But the best way is selling 2nd hand item in Bulk and claim it is new item!!

Actually EK Trading is the account for yishengbo.com betting website...anyone can open their account there and after that u need to bank in via maybank2u to top up ur betting account. Scammers would then ask unsuspecting forummers to bank in to EK Trading.com using any unique amount of cash like RM211 or RM841 so that Yishengbo runners in malaysia can trace whose user bank in to EK Trading and can update their balance there....hopefully this can help..just beware, they won't refund any cash since they are just runners for this betting website...

COD is good but most of the seller are at KL or selangor...
So ppl like me from penang cant always go down to KL jus for a COD.
So my 2cents is always find a seller with good reputation with reasonable prices of course...

Cheap things are never good,
Good things are never cheap.

This is the law of all trades....LOL

if COD high-price item during working hours, can consider COD in a nice bank. got secuity guard, CCTV, summore no need to carry lots of cash around for both buyer & seller.

Use your common sense and brain lar.

1. Many con cases offer ridiculous price for high end item. I dont know why they dont suspect anything.

2. COD. Thats the most secure dealing. I usually prefer to deal with sellers who can provide pics and item details. Lastly deal at a place well known to you, where you have security sense n time to inspect the item.

COD is only safe in the sense you confirm getting the item on your hand.

however the item could still be a dud.
