go and try apple music for 3 months first, then try spotify. i've been using spotify since march 2013 and im really liking it. since i changed to maxis late last year, i also managed to subscribe to spotify for even cheaper price per month at only 9.90.

so give them a try first then you can judge.

personally i hate apple's attempt to stop free music streaming on spotify and youtube and many others so i'll never support apple music.

Spotify is cheap and easier to search for songs imo compared to Tidal or Deezer.

Tidal is good but too expensive.

Huge spotify fan till now. But will definitely try the 3 months free trial from Apple Music. I find the interface of the apple service a little clunky...

Why would you pay for smth that you can have for free? I mean you can listen to all kinds of radio stations for free, there are free streaming services? What´s the deal?

Spotify is on my Android, my iOS device, my Audio receiver, my PS3, my PS4...practically every device in my house has access to Spotify.

Pretty obvious from there where my money goes to.

Yes, and with radio streaming you still get music...there are stations without ads, just music all the way. Is the quality of the music better?

just started using Apple Music for 2 days, been using Spotify Premium for 2 years.

Number of songs: I listened to everything, from Stoner Rock like OM and Sleep, Doom Metal, Ed Sheeran, Kyuss, Malay Pop, Khalil Fong, Pitahati, Dire Straits apepun ada )

Spotify > Apple music so far. Certain songs not available on Apple Music vice versa.
I'll wait for another 3 months and see how. They still building the licensin for streaming I guess

SQ:
The same. Apple Music just slightly louder.

Recommendation:
Spotify> Apple Music ; The interface is better

Radio:
Not bad. Not very mainstream.

Not cancelling my Spotify, yet.

sad.gif don´t get the need to be sarcastic when I was just asking a question, without offending anyone...or have I?
Seems just odd that people would pay for something that is also available for free and I thought that there is more to it...and before you jump to conclusions, with "free" I don´t have filesharing and torrents and other illegal stuff in mind, but simple, legal and free streaming smile.gif

Radio streaming - u cannot choose song, skip, cannot offline etc
Music streaming - can skip, choose song, offline mode etc for just RM10-15/month. And legally

Have you even try Spotify Premium b4?

i think it's a bit too late from apple to introduce music streaming. should have started long ago. now that everyone loves spotify, only hardcore apple fans will use it (yeah, I have one friend of mine who already in love with apple music and she's an apple fan). for me, i already stopped using itunes since last year because it was sluggish on my laptop. spotify does it's job really well without much RAM hogging or any lags (except when unifi being a b*tch of course).

i hope the FTC/EUC penalize them billions of dollar along with the publisher if they really did this. monopoly is always bad for consumer.

meanwhile, need to wait and see the availability of songs offer by apple music. atm, ayumi hamasaki playlist is unavailable sad.gif doh.gif

Apple Music is not as friendly as Spotify. The suggestion from Spotify is good, and can share friend's playlist.

Anybody tried the Spotify for Family? Anybody want to share the account together?

Hi, Spotify is the ideal choice if you don't want pay for premium. And if you still want to download Spotify songs, http://www.tunefab.com/spotify-music-converter/TuneFab Spotify Music Converter is the best option.

99% happy with Spotify; the 1% are times when a certain song 'is not available in your region'

My vote goes to Apple Music, one key benefit over Spotify;

Your own music and streamed music is available together in one place.

Example;
Spotify and Apple Music both don’t have the album Intimacy by Bloc Party, but I do

So I just synced it with my iPhone and it’s available together with the rest of my songs in Apple Music.

You can even store your own songs on the cloud and stream it, so you don’t have to use your phone space

I don’t think Spotify has this feature.

Also, some songs that I listen to are on Apple Music but not on Spotify, especially songs from Radiohead

Unrelated but Youtube lauched streaming service called Youtube Music but now it's not available in Malaysia at this point. They say it's like Spotify & Apple Music.

Also another kinda unrelated thing. In Europe & US music chart, they are doing this kind of thing where they weight subscribed streams like Apple Music/Spotify Premium/Tidal higher than the ad-funded/free streams like YouTube/Spotify Free on the chart representation points. US Billboard chart free streams would be 2/3 worth from the subscription stream, and while UK chart free streams would be 1/6 worth from the subscribed stream.

I think Spotify is better. I find the algorithms are quite good at suggesting songs that you would like. I also have the family package so very affordable everyone just needs to make sure they key in the same address when you join.

Absolutely Spotify!! I get used to listening to music on Spotify. At the very begining, I used both Spotify and Apple Music. But now, Spotify makes me happy. Apple Music is too complicated to use. I found an article about it on the Internet: https://www.dumpmedia.com/tricks/itunes-vs-spotify.html

As an Apple user - most of my devices revolves around the Apple ecosystem, that includes my computer, tablet, phone, watch etc.

Naturally Apple Music should be by default. I was using Apple Music for a couple of months, mainly because I can use it to stream my music via LTE through my Watch - something that Spotify doesn’t have.

Apple Music has a good interface, clean and minimalist vs Spotify - and the Live Lyrics is miles ahead of Spotify. But all the good stuff stops there.

Spotify’s playlist(s) are miles ahead of Apple Music - especially the Artist’s top songs. I always have a habit to listen to my music by Artist, so top songs to me is important. Apple Music always have the tendency to repeat the same song, of a different version (censored / uncensored / live / studio) which is annoying and you don’t get that with Spotify.

Apple Music’s playlist are also limited, Essential Playlist. The number of song choices are very limited - compared to Spotify.

In the end, I signed up for Spotify Duo with my partner - so Spotify has been my new choice now. Better price, better listening experience.

I am a big fan of Apple Music! Cuz I am also an Apple user, I think it is so convenient to transfer my data including Apple Music through Apple Music application or iTunes. Spotify is a little bit complicated for me to use. Besides, I also use a Apple Music Converter from TuneSolo that removes DRM from Apple Music so that I could get the songs for offline listening and keep them forever. https://www.tunesolo.com/apple-music-converter/
