U Mobile Upped The Game By Giving 3GB Data For Just RM28

Celcom and DiGi have been hogging the headlines lately with their low-cost-high-data plans, with a monthly fee of RM38 and RM36 respectively for 3GB Internet. We (as well as you guys for sure) were wondering whether any other telcos could top that, like seriously.

And before long, we get our answer. Be prepared to be blown away once again as U Mobile has stepped up the plate to deliver arguably the best bang-for-your-ringgit plan by giving its postpaid subscribers the same 3GB Internet data for just RM28/month. You read that right. That’s as much as RM10 off the offer from Celcom FIRST Basic 38, the plan that started it all.

This is not a brand new plan from U Mobile but rather an upgrade from its long-existing plan that is the U28. More good news await those currently subscribed to the plan as they will also get free 50 minutes calls to all networks on top of 300 free SMS (100 SMS to U Mobile numbers and 200 SMS to all networks).

U Mobile has not forgotten their other subscribers of as well as the P50 and P70 plans have also been similarly upgraded in Internet data offered. Those on P50 will not get 5GB instead of 3GB whereas those on P70 get to enjoy 7GB from the previous 4.5GB, all for the same unchanged price. There will also be 30 minutes free call to U Mobile numbers to be enjoyed ONLY AFTER using up all the allocated free calls to all networks.

The upgrade is automatic for all current existing subscribers and you should find your newly-added quota upon checking now by dialing *118#. For those “outside” who want to jump in and sign up to either one of the three postpaid plans, you best do so before August 31 in order to enjoy the extra Internet.

Well. I'm using this package currently. It's cheap and fast in town but there is no network coverage in rural area.

Sigh. Just thinking want to subscribe. If they only use maxis 2g, then its just a waste if I go to places that has maxis 3g, but no Umobile coverage.

Depends where you are most of the time. When I was using umobile, at home and at work get coverage all the time. That's where I need Internet 99% of the time. Looks like I'll move back.

U Mobile quite fast at my area - Permas Jaya (Johor Bahru). Sometime I get around 9Mbps (download speed), but night time will down to 3Mbps to 5Mbps only.

I signup U Mobile yesterday because ABN still not working after 7 days.

I went back to u28. Plan gives all network 50 minutes a month. I pay 5 a month for u talk plus addon. How does it get deducted ?

Would it be correct to assume u to u calls will be deducted from u talk plus first or from the all network first ?

Contract based? From what I believe, the coverage suck big time.
