hi guys, my swift is 1.5L zc21 2011 with mileage around 160k km.
now i got problem with the absorber,
- seem like bit soft when going thru speed bump. always need to very2 slow to be comfortable.
- my road near my house quite bad, with lots of uneven road, pothole etc,
- if i fetch passenger at the back with 2-3 people, the undercarriage hit the speed bump if going lil it fast. need go thru slowly.
- if go thru uneven road, can heard squeak sound, mybe from the absorber too cos last few years, didnt hear it much.
- no problem at all layan corner at karak with 120-140km/h
- straight line at highway, 160-170km/h, still feel ok and quite stable. no boat feel. laugh.gif

my absorber still original from factory, never change before.
now im looking to change it to new 1 and survey for the replacement. now got 2 types in my mind. showa and kayaba excel g.
which 1 is better ?

based on price i get, kayaba much cheaper around 1.2k include installation.

do i need to replace the absorber bush too ?

any tips@ recommendations for my absorber replacement ?

thanks in advance

guys, i also got some small air cond problem with my zc21.
already do aircond flushing last 2-3 years with those flushing machine.

my aircond not so cold on hot weather, i already set it to lowest temp. its small issue since i can feel its still blowing cold air, just that not cold as new car.
night time or raining no issue, very cold.

so its might be compressor ? or should i do the aircond flushing again ?
last year i did check the gas, seem still in good pressure.

car meter show 136000km
need to do major service or overhaul leh?
i drive the car seems ok
*
if u dont know the car maintenance record, better do major service like EO, gear oil service, flush coolant.
others wear n tear parts, need to check 1st like brake pads, beltings etc.

Car Leg is č»Šč…³ Absorber, hahahahaha

mine same model. can get 350km per tank for 100% city drive. long journey can get 450km. sometimes reach 500km if drive speed limit
- iridium spark plug
- engine oil semi 10w40 ( now use eneos, service every 5k km)
- ATF, suzuki ori oil, service every 20k km
- tire use pressure 230kpa( follow manual), standard rim and tire size, got TPMS to monitor

suzuki already entered malaysia again, but under new distributor, which i think Berjaya Group if i remember correctly. but its not cover from old distributor, only new car under them only, which is the new gen swift sport 2021 and new jimny

for old swift, you just bring to outside wordshop also fine, more better if u find swift specialist workshop, got lots in malaysia, u just need to find it.
go to the fb swift group, there is list of workshop that do swift specialist.
and just go to the workshop that near u.
lots of parts/recond available and with cheap price compare others brand.

Hello, I'm considering to get a second hand 2014 Swift as a backup car. I think it's the ZC32 model (I'm not too sure on Swifts, sorry) 4AT. Mileage 126+. I would like to know
1)what are the major and minor problems with this car (clutch slipping/rattling/etc)
2) maintenance cost
3) average mileage for a full tank
4) availability of spare parts and price
5) is this a recommended daily driver? thanks!
*
mine is ZC21s model, 1.5 auto 2nd gen swift. 2012, which is much2 older than 1.4 model.
current odo 170k km, which is i think still low compare to others. laugh.gif

still using as main car until today, 9years
1. dont hv any issue except for rattling parts. i guess the control arm , bushing etc is time to change, but still not that bad. dont hv issue on highways.. still original from factory, didnt change yet. last year i only change absorber, as swift well know have soft suspension. and should change since its 8 years running already. not sure about 1.4 model though.
change headcover gasket once last year, as 1.5 model prone to have oil leak around VVT valve or something there. around rm200-300 if i remember correctly.

2. change EO, OF, labour is around rm150 for every 5k km.(depend on ur oil brand, grade . mine is semi syn eneos 10w-40)
ATF change is every 20-30k km, around rm100, exclude labour
air filter RM30-40, cabin filter around same price i think.
spark plug, i use iridium , below rm200 for every 60k km.
alternator belt, acc belt - , original belt around rm200 include labour

the rest should be same as normal car, and the price also should be more or less. depends where u service ur car. mine is normal workshop only, only went to specialist suzuki workshop once for absorber n headcover gasket.

3. normally i refuel full tank around 32-35 liters and can go 400-500km depends on how i drive and if its long distance, have more mileages. fc in range 10-14km/l. and if im not mistaken 1.4 model have higher FC, more efficient engine.

4. spare parts should be easy to source, as much of the parts came from halfcut from japan. but mine dont need to change much, only normal service. 1.5 model parts is much cheaper than 1.4, due to older model.

5. i cant say much on 1.4 model, but for 1.5 , should be fine for daily ride. good handling. but for FC, i think myvi still win. laugh.gif

Hello swifties,
I’m looking for a recommendation for a repair shop for my swift within the subang Jaya area without cut throat prices. Where do you guys who live around the area service your cars? Thanks in advanced.
*
i think you can try fineworks garage near the subang airport.
https://goo.gl/maps/XX9H476KWipmmFXR9

the owner also use swift, and always use original items, no fake/copy ori things. at least, those what they being told.
went there before to change suspension and they did thorough checking, found out the VVT gasket leaking, which is common issue for swift.( i know this before went to this workshop, so i know they didnt lie).
price is reasonable and they always post/show the price in public/ on fb. which is some workshop dont want to.

Just curious, how much did they charge you for the VVT gasket replacement? Cuz I suspect this could be the primary culprit to the leaking in my car.
*
i forgot edy. because do it on 2019. i remember around rm100-200 if i remember correct. include parts and labour. you can directly ask the owner steven 1st before go there.

I prefer somewhere in USJ or south Shah Alam if possible

Suspect absorber is time for servicing or totally have to change if cannot be salvage

Other than that, hard to bid goodbye to this car. Just the big downside is 2 airbags
*
changed mine at fineworks sg buluh last 2 years.
1 fullset of KYB Japan absorber front and rear, i think around rm1k something. you can check with fb page, he got listed the latest price ( which thumbs up for honest seller, not like other seller dont want to publish their price sweat.gif )

now i think my lower arm rubber already kaput, a bit noisy when go thru an even road bumps.
and my aircond got small leak sweat.gif . but its worth it since its 10years of age. everything else still fine

That sounds worst after changing to new ones

Better I keep my old abs like that hahah

Now scouting for kyb maybe will order online and bring to workshop to pasang?
*
where is ur location ? last time i went to fineworks garage, sg buloh to change my abs to ori japan KYB. i think if u find reputable shop with installation much better. so at least u can ask for warranty.

Yeah Im surveying this workshop as well as they use kayaba and quoted price upfront thru whatsapp

How is ur experience with kyb abs? Durable and comfortable? Same like standard abs feeling?

Im preparing around 2.5k for all 4 abs and mountings, and rear bearings
*
yes, the good thing about this workshop, the price is listed on the fb pages is public. so no need to pm laugh.gif .
for me the price quite ok because the seller claim KYB ori japan. and most of the spare parts he has is either ori or high quality OEM.this what his claim la.
and the price always quoted with installation.
- lst time i change the both front and rear absorber, then change the vvt gasket due to oil leaking there.
same as stock feeling. so far few years already. since 2019. but i wish it more stiff at the back. since if full load with people. it seem more lowered at the rear. but this is due to spring . not absorber. i just changed the absorber, spring still stock.
