so many mosquito in my house. need to buy mosquito killer but there are so many types and brand. some with 4 LED some with 6 LED and some with 12 LED. anyone care to advice which one (brand/model) value for money.

Keep your house clean is the best way.

Just do not buy those with suction fans type, it does not work well.

I am using the suction type with UV light, not too bad if you ask me.

Like a size of large Milo tin, only taller. Been using it since 2008, change twice the bulb. Now I seldom use because using a/c regularly.

Tha fan type UV light is not just produce UV. Ontop the UV light have a sheet of metal (somesort) material that when UV shine on it will produce CO2. It will extract the mosquito to the trap.

LED to produce UV, i have some doubt. the LED one is not effective. The fluorescent uv are more effective.

The coating is titanium dioxide. The byproduct when exposed to UV light is CO2, which, in theory, should attract mozzies. Whether the LED can emit UV spectrum, I'm not too sure. You can always bring some paper money close and see if you can read the UV security features

My friend advise me not to put inside the house. Cause it produce CO2. Hang at the height of your face.

It generates very little amount of CO2 only... You can put it at a dark corner in the house.

the rex catches mosquitos only and is indeed rather good at it. i use two units outside also to control the mosquitos. i never see a fly in it. only some moths.

i got mine from cosway, get 20 mosquitoes a week indoors

Cannot catch flies la. But can catch lizard.

Cause the mos inside is a food for them.

The part that always change and spoil is the 2pcs uv light. It have a lifespan.

Mine same as ozak, and brand is REX, remember got it around 150, come with 4 spare bulbs. The "sucker" need 2 bulbs.

UV light tube for Rex Photocatalyst Mosquitoes Trap? u can get it in shops that sell lighting, some hardware shop might be selling it though....

The recent batch UV light is not lasting enough. Sent for warranty claim twice for both UV light tube. The service center also notice about this. I had never turn it off once i installed it. After complaining about it the 2nd time i sent for warranty claim, i guess they replaced it with a better quality UV light tube. So far it is running well 24/7.

I am not really sure, maybe its a 6" UV tube, just bring the tube to the shop when u wanna buy your new tube.

this Rex Photocatalyst Mosquitoes Trap tabuli pakai......the fan motor faulty again. Sent for repair and was told need to wait for 1 mth cos no spare part.

Looks like the REX is our best choice here?

Where is their service center? How many hours of use before your UV tube got burned?

btw, its net looks very messy after catching some mos. And it has some sticky gum on the net? So that means cannot be clean? Must remove and replace after a while? Wondering where to buy this net then?

ACE selling another brand also, not as expensive, but not sure of its performance and reliability though...

Number of hours depends.. i had changed twice in 1 year (changed for free, under warranty), the 2nd time they changed for me a better one (or maybe earlier batch that last longer) as i told them it is not reliable.
Using it for 24/7 now for more than half a year already.

There's no sticky gum on the net. u can clean it. it s just a net to trap the mosquito. No need to buy additional things for it. As long as the fan and lighting tube is ok, then u r good to go.

I.have a few of these traps at home, they work well. However, you don't need to on them 24x7. Just couple hours a day during certain times, eg dusk, dawn, midnight. I use timer.

Bulbs are expensive tho, anyone knows where to buy cheaper bulbs, other than ace?

The UV LED is LED stripe...Which can long last more than 5-10 years (Open daily 24/7).

The light bulb is like our light savings bulb, which spoil after 1-2 years. Replacement is somehow expensive.

Mosclean LED type is quite effective. The only problem is there is nothing stopping the mozzies from escaping when you open the cover or when you switch it off.

The cheaper version I got from ACE has the "funnel" which prevents the mozzies from escaping when you open the cover to empty the chamber or when you stop the power.

Might to share which brand did you get from ace hardware?

Whisper Kuiet or something like that. It uses UV tube/bulb. Not sure how effective it is against mosquitoes as mine failed to catch those pesky fruit flies (those small flying insects which like garlic/onions).

I Bought it as well, effective but problem is the plastic fan crack, broken. Asked ace hardware they say is not for sale.... box dont have service center number or company details.... any1 know where to buy the fan?

Alamak, I threw mine away during spring cleaning as it did not work for me. Can't you replace the fan with computer casing fan? Not sure of its voltage though.

Yes, Mosquitoes are very annoying and I have used various mosquito killers which I have used in the past but none of them used to work. Finally, I found that the Hunter Repellent machine works well. I have uploaded an image of it.
