ts have you repasted the cpu?
the only solution i found is to repaste with high quality thermal paste to avoid throttling.
even that temps still reach 90c sad.gif
sometimes its worth paying more for higher quality laptops i guess

Did you tell them to use a different thermal paste ? Cause normally they will use the stock thermal paste which is not as effective as other brand.
For AutoCAD, I believe CPU is also a factor here. Well can't expect shared heat pipe model to perform very well in heat management.

this
they might also put too much thermal paste which will act as an insulator instead of helping metal to metal contact

My entire dept using Lenovo.

My last laptop was IBM (kinda like Lenovo?), a 17"cher.

Never had any issues.

Haha! Good luck to any future Lenovo owner. Either you take my advice or...you shall waste your hard earned RM3000 on a laptop that gets faulty after 1 year. RM3000 seems like a small amount to people who are working....but in my case, I'm still a university student. And i tried selling away the laptop, highest offer I got is only RM200. Stubborn people who don't want to learn from our mistakes, go ahead and buy and support your Lenovo laptops, good luck going through all these hassle in the near future.

I just found out that I was scammed actually. I sent this laptop to the computer shop to reapply thermal paste but got scammed.

Last night, my brother in law came over and helped to disassemble the whole laptop.

The moment he opened the back casing, he already told me the inside of the laptop looks "virgin". Like never open before, very new

hmm maybe you can ask your brother in law to help you repaste hmm.gif
should improve the temps

I have used my Lenovo Y580 for 3 years, still able to run intense application under humid situation and never got overheat... never met a problem like urs... I bought my brother a Lenovo slim laptop with A10 APU, used 1 year , never had any issue either.

The fact is my situation is reverse with urs.  I used to use Acer before in few model, Aspire 4710 then Aspire 4741, guess what, both of these unit suffer same problems. 4710 suffer overheat issue after 5 months usage... even though thermal paste replace and cleaning done, same goes to 4741, hardsk failure, overheat issue, blue screen, motherboard fried even fan stop working due to heat overshoot, all these happened in 1 yr of time. Same goes to my friend using V3 with I7, overheat issue after 1 year usage making the palm rest area literally burning the hand when placing over during typing. Therefore, ACER is a problematic laptop for me haha... believe it or not smile.gif

Anw just sharing my experience though... Asus or Lenovo laptop still my choice.

i guess its depending on luck hmm.gif
i got a cheapo lenovo g400s that i upgraded to an i7 3630qm from an i3 3110m
temps stay below 87c with throttlestop
but my friends y500 suffers from overheating even after repaste
might be faulty heatpipe hmm.gif
