Managed to get a Friheten corner sofa at Ikea at a discounted price last week.
Normal price is RM1,990.00 and discounted price was RM1,490.00. Savings of RM500.00!

Two of my sisters in Australia are using this sofa as well and one of them has 3 kids but the sofa has stood up pretty well so far in 4 years against rowdy kids as they often throw parties for the children.

For the price that I paid for, I guess it is worthwhile if it lasts between 5-8 years.
For me, I need some freshness in the house every now and then, so I will not be buying expensive sofas to use for more than 10 years...
Just my point of view...to each their own!

Yeah, probably the price has been lowered to clear stocks as I have been informed that they are going to discontinue this item. I think they are sold out at both Ikeas already.
It is good value for anyone who managed to get one of these...

I have been told this is going to be discontinued.
The best is to go to the store itself and check if they have stock.
Their online inventory is not accurate. Sometimes if you call, the operator gets it wrong as well.
I bought mine during the sale in March. This was selling fast at that time and I was monitoring the availability closely. I called to enquire and was told it was sold out. I doubted her and went to the store to check. It was still available and I managed to get it at RM1490.00.
Mine is still not assembled as my house is just about to complete renovating.
But I guess for a sofa bed like this costing less than RM1,500.00, lasting 5 years or more with normal usage will be considered very good already.
