Hi all sifu, allow me to ask a newbie question.

If I root my note 4 using Chainfire, can I still install Xposed? From what I read online, it seems that I can only flash Xposed if I root using TWRP/CWM. Kindly advice.

I have just rooted my note 4 successfully using Chainfire (able to use Titanium Backup and SuperSU), however I don't seem to be able to use the system recovery (by pressing vol up+power+home). Every time I do that it shows a dead android creature (that green mascot) lying down, and at the bottom indicating "dm-verity verification failed...". I can't flash any zip files too.

I have tried unroot, hard reset and root again, still I encounter the same thing. Any advice from all sifu?

you mean nandroid backup ?
you need to flash the custom recovery, like twrp
flash it using odin

No I don't mean nandroid backup. I'm trying to say my vol up+power+home page seem to be different, and I can't flash any zip file at all, not from that page, and not even Flashify sad.gif

You need Custom recovery to flash files. Either CWM or TWRP.
Flash cwm recovery tar file using odin first. Than only flash twrp.img file using flashify app if you need twrp
TWRP I find is much better as CWM seems had problem flashing files from ext sdcard

In other words, even though I have rooted the phone using Chainfire, I still need to flash CWM/TWRP using Odin first, before attempting to flash any zip files?

Awesome. Let me try that and report back smile.gif

This is what I replied to a PM to me
You must installed the right xposed to avoid bootloop. Once you had flash it be PATIENT and wait for the phone to boot as all your apps will be scanned all over again. It could take a few minutes to fully boot back
Google for this xposed mod file for the Note 4 ( on lollipop)
xposed-sdk21-arm-20150430-arter97-V3.zip
You need to installed the xposed installer apk too :XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha2.apk

Sorry I cannot give you the link as these files I copy out from my phone
Is easy to find it on the web

I download Wanam Xposed app from playstore

Quick question, does this mean that once I have installed the xposed and installer as indicated above, I can then download the Wanam Xposed from Playstore?

I'm currently using rooted 5.0.1 Note 4.
