QUOTE(mydragoon @ Aug 30 2015, 02:43 PM) true, we're free to use anything we want. and yes, I'm aware generally Kitkat is generally preferred over Lollipop by many from lag, colour scheme to even battery performance concerns. How about using custom ROM such as CM? I found that stage fright was patched on my S4 running nightly cm12.1I'm just highlighting that it's still a security risk. there are many other vulnerabilities and bugs. this is why Samsung has recently committed to (I think) monthly commitment to have security patches released. I'm using note 2 and my main concern now is the lack of patches. it's "forced" me to consider updating even though I feel the phone is working fine. I'm quite security aware and conscious, but still... never hurts to be extra concerned. |

QUOTE(bsm88 @ Sep 15 2015, 06:44 PM) To all very proud Note 4 Comrade it'll be better to wait for Marshmallow, it would have a better standby time...I'm using custom 5.1.1 on a note 2, I noticed that the battery life got worse.. 5% battery drain overnight 5.1.1 update, Please share your experience... Looking back the thread, comments like: (after updated) 1. Consume more battery 2. Smoother than before 3. Etc Given personal experience in the past, performance actually became worst after each firmware update for some brand such as Asus. So is 5.1.1 is really worth the update? Because it is irreversible after update. Cheers |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Oct 12 2015, 06:44 AM) Anyone having the same issues as me? After updating to Lollipop I notice the battery drains faster and the signal loss is apparent compared to KitKat. It happened across most devices on lollipop |

QUOTE(ming86 @ Oct 19 2015, 08:23 AM) time to visit service center. Noted. My cousin went to repair his Z1 as the phone went blank by itself, it came back with a large crack across the screen. Upon inquiry, the service man denied any liability. Argued with him then left without paying.it is sub key problem. The sub key should be sensitive like screen. my unit also have this problem, first is multitasking key not sensitive (need to press instead of touch), after repair, both key not sensitive (need to press), but they refuse to repair again, and insist that is not an issue. After argue with them hardly, they finally agree to run a test, and told me this is an xxx issue next day. This problem start right after they replace new motherboard for me (first warranty visit, camera issue). btw, Samsung service center, E-Gate, Penang. Whole process takes 1 month+, visit center more than 10 times, repair at least 6 times. Just give some advice for Penang forumer. I have very bad experience on Samsung Service Center, E-Gate, Penang. Very bad workmanship, unprofessional. 1. First I send warranty because of camera issue, they leave a big dust inside the lens. 2. Call me to collect the phone on the next day, and said that the dust inside the lens is not an issue! (They leave a big dust inside the lens and said this is not an issue!) 3. Then sub key issue (because they didn't fully test the phone after replace the motherboard, they only test camera) 4. Went center over and over again for camera dust and sub key issue. 5. refuse to repair although that obviously a problem exist. 6. New scratches&dent on phone, and screen adhesive. 7. hand over the phone to me without a single screw (missing screw). 8. They exchange my battery with other people battery! 9. Without a single apologize for all this mess. - Please fully test your phone after they repair your phone before you leave the counter, because they are not fully test your phone after repair. - Check the screw. (Yes, they hand over the phone to me with missing screw! and told me it has finish repaired) - Please check the outlook of your phone. - Check the battery, they mess up my battery with other people's battery. Look at their workmanship: Screen adhesive: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « scratches(IR) and dent (Top bazel): » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Phone without a single screw, and they told me the phone has finish repaired! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |
