QUOTE(silverchair959 @ Aug 26 2015, 07:43 AM) hope N4 price will drop below 2k after the N5 release next week More than a month back you can easily get original SME set for RM 1.8-1.9k at Lazada and 11street sites. Even satugadget was selling for around rm1.9k Samsung official retail prices are always higher

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Aug 29 2015, 11:43 AM) I installed the version from Turkey , forgot the name of rom though, it just can't get much of the LTE even in open space mid town , maxis You can flash back just the modem BOE1 if you so wish. You can find this at XDA - either the tar file using Odin or zip file through custom recovery mode Need not get rid of your latest firmware

QUOTE(eugene88 @ Aug 30 2015, 12:12 PM) Is it normal to get the Android is upgrading message every time I restart my phone? NO.. such message will only occur once after you flash a new rom or flash xposed mod. It shouldn't for any normal restart

I had posted twice there were NO stagefright problems ( NOT VULNERABLE) on my previous Note 4 on both Simpl 4c lite and Wannamlite BOG1 firmware However one user here reported his Simpl rom was VULNERABLE and I used too same Ultimate Kernel as him So I guess this Stagefright could also be apps related possibly ??

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 4 2015, 09:18 AM) Can anyone recommend me a good custom rom that still retain touchwiz? SIMPL romv4c lite : during install you can easily choose what Samsung stuffs you do not wish to install I had tested before SweetRom, Wannamlite, RulingLite. Next best is Wannamlite. These are purely my opinion and your taste could be different

QUOTE(OwlsHeart @ Sep 6 2015, 11:57 AM) that wanamlite rom is it better than simplrom? does it still retain spen features and functionality? All custom roms based on Touchwiz will keep all the SPen features and functions : based on all my experiences flashing Note2, Note3 and Note4 custom roms Wannamlite rom is good and so is Simpl rom. It all depends on your needs. I prefer Simpl rom as during flashing I am given the choices of what Samsung stuffs I need and what I do not need to be installed. Operationwise both roms are equally good for me Just test yourself to assess which meets your needs better This post has been edited by benny888: Sep 6 2015, 12:01 PM

QUOTE(shenglimzdavid @ Sep 6 2015, 02:48 PM) Hi, is Knox tripped during the flashing process of the ROM? * since Samsung is #### when it comes down to warranty* Knox tripped - I have ZERO problems claiming warranty on my ex Note 3 ( USB port repair) and S6E ( change motherboard) Seriously I had yet to hear anybody unsuccessful claiming warranty with knox tripped yet !! What you need to do is to unroot the phone FULLY using supersu PRO app - check the status goes back to OFFICIAL and not CUSTOM. If you want more assurance use Odin and flash back stock rom

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Sep 7 2015, 11:57 AM) how do i change the pull down setting icon and background colors, i can't find it [attachmentid=4909847] Search for such mods at forum XDA - quite many combo choices you can have. However read the description as some work on only specific models

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Sep 8 2015, 12:57 AM) Use Odin 3.10 .... Earlier Odin quite prone to fail to flash even when it shows success . Untick auto-reboot in "option" for Odin 3.10 .... Once u flash and success , remove batt and boot into recovery via hardware button I always consistently failed using Odin version above 3.06 to 3.10 . I had no idea what is the problem. It was always like that since Windows 8, 8.1 and now Windows 10 on my Sony Vaio notebook So I always use back older version 1.87 and had always been successful flashing recovery, root files, full firmware up till Note4 My present Note 5 on Windows 10 I had failed even flashing TWRP and customized rooted kernel !! I had no other Windows PC to test on the Note 5. So my Note 5 is still in its stock unrooted state !

QUOTE(starz92 @ Sep 10 2015, 04:21 PM) guys, any problem with note 4 battery? As in spoil due to overcharging? My note 3 have this problem due to overcharging while my bro note 4 battery is still in good condition due to no overcharging. Hence I am asking if overcharging will still spoil the battery in note 4? Is current technology enable them to automatically stop the the current inflow when battery life is full? The reason for it is that I am changing to note 5 and worried if my battery spoil due to overcharging again. (I usually charge it overnight) If you like to charge overnight get a timer n set it to say max 3 hours . The timer will disconnect any current inflow to phone These days all modern phones had built in circuitry to auto stop charging once is fully charged. But sceptics will say though not charging the heat will degrade the battery. Is up to you whether to believe such sceptics!!

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Sep 11 2015, 10:50 AM) samsung, and is powered by the troll clean master crap Very very surprised Samsung allow such a malicious app such as Clean master into their phones. It came with my Note5 too. I disabled it once I noted clean master was the app behind it But some users like clean master n even promote it!! At least Smart Manager doesn't auto divert you to install other app as in Clean Master itself

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 11 2015, 11:36 AM) Planning to get mt dad a note 4 from Direct D, but they have no stock for SME set, only AP. Anyone knows if there is any differences/factors I should take to account besides warranty? I was told everytime updating the android firmware should go directly to Direct D or risk losing your personal contents and apps. That would be very troublesome to always drive to Direct D just to update firmware.. That is nonsense ? Why need directd to update? First time I hear such stuff!! Update firmware officially will NEVER delete any data in phone

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Sep 11 2015, 11:47 AM) That's what I thought so too lol. Can never trust a woman rep on phone lol. Any thoughts on Direct D SME vs AP set? I had used before SME n AP sets of same Samsung model No significant differences except chipset eg most AP Note4 are SD chip vs Exynos in Msian set. Difference in performance marginal but seems battery life s better on Exynos. Rom flashers will love SD sets more Warranty services on AP from directD is mixed review. I had purchased several AP sets from them before n only one case I need warranty claim. All conducted through SMS n I need pay only courier charges back to me. Got the phone back with motherboard change in 10 days.

QUOTE(CR35G @ Sep 11 2015, 12:09 PM) Uncle Benny, since you had used so many AP sets before, just wanted to ask. I bought an AP note4 recently (first time buying AP set because i want the SD model) and 1 of the box sticker was cut off and box consider is open (the staff said they do so is for customer to check). Is that true? I though is the same as SME set, only cut and open in front the customer after they confirm want it. Just wonder is my phone totally new or already been used or returned set. (i not chance to asked because my sis help me to get it, i'm overseas). Is it supposed to be open like what the staff said? Sorry no idea...yes I had received before sets with sealed cut off. But such stuffs doesn't really bother me much!!
