You need to mention the specific tire type coz both may have made some very good ones and some maybe not so good ones too. Both are well proven brands so cannot simply generalize like that.

Yes.
Then there are some Dunlops still on their own made in Japan and not under Continental Group. Then in US, Dunlop is taken under Goodyear.

Excuse me, there are Yokohamas that are also made in Japan. My wife's car is using S-Drive made in Japan. What model are you referring to? You have to give a specific model for goodness sake ...

There is no such thing as which is better when you only give brand. It's no different if you ask BMW or Mercedes is better. What series? Every model is different. Yokohama and Dunlop have low, medium and high specs. What model are you choosing? You don't even know how to make a valid topic  doh.gif We want to help you, but when you don't even know the right questions to ask, you're just being foolish.

In every category, details are needed to give a good overall comparison.
Your question is like asking "whether Panasonic TV is better or Sony TV?"
There are different in both the comparable model, thus only from the specific, then one can explain why one is better than another.

Both these brands is famous for making tyres, and they have their specific target market.
I personally is using the Dunlop SP Sport J5 (was considering the Yokohama Advan DB, until good offer came with the J5) since March 2015. Never regretted at all.
So does it mean Dunlop is better? I don't think so.
Is Yokohama Better? Maybe, but in what category?

If no specific is written, then we are seriously going in circles, and reaching no end.
So ya... whistling.gif

All tyres is good enough, provided you satisfy when using it.
Good grip, comfortable and silence, or pricing, as long as you happy the tyre is good enough.

Again, Michelin what model? PS3, I'd say better than DB. If you go for Energy XM2, perhaps its more fuel efficient but lacking in performance. You've really got to specify the models so that, if not me, anyone else can give you a clearer opinion of which is better.

What are you looking for? Confidence in wet conditions? You like to drive fast? Are you concern with noise?

Does the above warrant a report again? laugh.gif
