For income from property rentals, how do you treat for tax?

i have 2 properties.

One gives net profit of MYR11,000. Another gives a net loss of MYR13,000

Do you consolidate the two for taxable income?

In e filing, is there any way of accessing your past years BE forms that you have submitted?

I cannot seem to find the links. All it does is say they "you have submitted and receipt is acknowledged"!

Has anyone claim relief for children over 21 studying for a degree overseas?

According to the Act, it only only allows for degrees which is taken at approved institutions.

How do you know what are the approved courses and institutions?

Hi
Looks like many courses in Australia are not recognized by our education ministry! Even Architecture!

Ridiculous!

For the KELAYAN KHAS LUAR NEGARA, is it saying all the courses listed CRICOS is recognised?

As long as it is related to this

Last year was within 1 week.
Tax rebate or Tax overpayment payback?
*
Is there a difference? smile.gif

It is actually over payment payback after taking into account the reliefs allowed.

Can one still file in online tax returns for 2017?

No employee income. Only rental income. This is because they did an estimate tax assessment in absence of tax return filing for 2017.

You can file for back dated income only but cannot claim for tax relieves.
You can do that in next year e-BE/E under PENDAPATAN BUKAN PENGGAJIAN BAGI TAHUN KEBELAKANGAN YANG BELUM DILAPORKAN
*
So you cannot actually file in for 2017?

If you're part of the being audited process, you should consult the tax agent to assist on this matter.

The income tax sent a letter for income tax payment based on section 90(3) for estimated assessment for non submission of return for 2017.

Maybe it needs you to do a manual filing.
It's better for you to check with the branch tax office where your tax file is being maintained with.

In the e form, is there a section where you can declare your retirement gratuity?

Thanks in advance

no separate section, just total in column I 'total gross remuneration' with the taxable gratutity
check if they have met exemption condition?

Retirement gratuity is tax exempted. AS indicated by Mum above.
i am just wondering where in the form i should be stating it.

This is my scenario.

QUOTE
Example 4
Compulsory retirement after working in the same company for
more than 10 years
Zubir retired at the compulsory retirement age of 60 years on 28.2.2014
after working for a telecommunications company for the past 18 years.
He was paid a gratuity of RM180,000 for his 18 years of service with
the company.
As Zubir retired upon reaching the compulsory age of retirement and
he had worked with the same employer for more than 10 years, he
qualifies for a full exemption on the retirement gratuity.

Not sure if there is E-HK 2.2 worksheet.
Perhaps you can check if you can use the print version of the HK2.2 worksheet to do the compilation of amount and fill in there (as per HK 2?) THEN get the value feed it into e-BE??
Then keep both the compiled HK2 and HK 2.2 worksheet and submit to ldhn when asked in future?
Caveat emptor while waiting for qualified response

Cannot seem to find it in the e forms.
However, my company has filled it in the EA form.
And it should be qualified as tax exempted.
