I have question to ask:
A director employed in Malaysia Sdn Bhd, received a small portion of wages at his home country - Japan, which is paid by the Japan Company. The income is not remit back to malaysia. So which ruling justify this income is not subject to PCB? |

QUOTE(fztt @ Aug 24 2017, 03:29 PM) Looks like I have no choice but to call & disturb them oredi, a few days after I paid, I checked e-ledger (actually they owe me 3X more in overpaid taxes than their 113(2) claim), I discovered they deducted what I owe them AFTER I oredi paid, so they double deducted So already have feed back on what the 2400 is about? |

QUOTE(reicheru @ Aug 28 2017, 12:51 PM) For sole proprietor (e-commerce), is there any tax incurred IF I hire assistant online (just basic admin tasks) who works OUTSIDE of Malaysia? You mean need to pay for this individual income tax? NoThe payment will be by the hour, paid weekly via PayPal. I've been searching high and low for answers. Someone please enlighten me? Thanks in advance! QUOTE(xDragonZ @ Aug 28 2017, 05:19 PM) Only the acknowledge copy when you have been submitted by handQUOTE(h0lycha0s @ Aug 31 2017, 12:59 AM) Hey bros and ladybros, The reason you start to work at Italy is because of employment or own business? If it is employment (assume not relevant to Malaysia), it will be subject to Italy (whatever) tax.Was lurking and wanted to ask some questions regarding income tax. So, currently I am not a tax resident of Malaysia nor any country per se. I will start working from October 1st in Italy which I believe have a double taxation agreement with Malaysia, and even so would not qualify me as a tax resident in Italy. Hence I am not a tax resident in neither country. SCENARIO 1: However, I will be working in Italy and getting paid in Italy. Since I am not a tax resident of neither countries, can I choose which country to file my tax (ideally Malaysia but since I am not a tax resident). IF I get to choose, I assume I can use the tax exemption for foreign income, correct ? SCENARIO 2: (I get tax resident in Malaysia) If that does not work out, I will choose to stay for couple of weeks longer in order to qualify as a tax resident in Malaysia, that way double taxation avoidance kicks in and I will be taxed in Malaysia instead, but since it's 100% foreign income, this will mean that I am exempted from this income too, right ? One of these could be a wrong assumption, the only difference is when I get to leave Malaysia and whether I can fit in a week or two of holiday before heading there. Best, |

QUOTE(greenmacha @ Jan 19 2018, 09:16 PM) Appreciate advice here: You can insist the bank to print for you the whole year statement, but charges apply.I registered my online biz in June last year. Prior to that (Jan 2017- May 2017), my customers paid me directly to my personal bank accounts. I intend to declare this income. I have my own spreadsheet showing the payments and expenses (hence, profit). Trouble is, I didn't manage to print out my account statements for Jan 2017 till May 2017 to show the customers' payments. It seems most banks only allow us to print statements of up to just the past 6 months. How can I go about declaring this income? Will LHDN insist on having official bank statements to support my declaration? |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jan 16 2018, 04:12 PM) Contractual work/payment may not under company payroll aka they are not employee of the company so PCB is not applied, instead contractor themselves need to file CP500 themselves. The individual may only change from permanent staff to contract staff, and yet is still company's staff, but on yearly renewal basis. if this the case, he still continue to file form BE. There is too many possibility as the question was not properly framed and the words they use may not be the actual scenario.Typical example, my company director need to .....? but these COMPANY DIRECTOR is referring to sole prop owner |

QUOTE(soundworks @ Nov 11 2018, 11:46 AM) Do I need to pay EPF for my business income when I'm already paying EPF for my employment? If I don't pay will banks consider my business income tak layak cos never pay EPF on it when applying loan in the future? As a business owner (sole prop), it is not mandatory to contribute EPF, so it wouldn't have the 'tak layak' issues |
