Dear sifus, would donation to Pibg ( persatuan ibubapa & guru) be eligible for tax relief?

Thanks in advanced
*
Only donation to organisation/charity organisation that obtained LHDN/Finance ministry approval is eligible for tax relief.

Do I need to pay EPF for my business income when I'm already paying EPF for my employment? If I don't pay will banks consider my business income tak layak cos never pay EPF on it when applying loan in the future?
*
As a business owner (sole prop), it is not mandatory to contribute EPF, so it wouldn't have the 'tak layak' issues

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know if I am able to claim any extra relief for FY2018 taxes. My situation is as follows:
1. I left my old Company and when I left I broke my Education Bond of RM35,000 and repaid the Company out of my pocket.
2. Another Company hired me and compensated me for my Education and gave me a bonus of RM35,000 to cover the Expense I paid.

Since the amount is treated as a Bonus, my PCB has increased tremendously and potentially this one-off payment made me hit a new Tax Band Rate >100K.
Is there any reliefs I can Claim since the money is merely a replacement of what I paid.

I guess, by february of each year......the company would be obligated to gives you the statement form detailing the total income of the past 1 year including the total deduction....it is called the EA form

yes,...
bcos if the LHDN happens to audit your submitted form......
you cannot say that the variance is from your company...for the EA formd does not reflects that.

btw...do you sign any receipts when you receives those cash commission?

how does the LHDN wanna proof that your company did gives you the cash commission?

best is you check with LHDN if not sure....

Section 114(1A) - Income Tax Act 1967 (in part)
“Any person who assists in, or advises with respect to, the preparation of any return where the return results in an understatement of the liability for tax of another person shall, unless he satisfies the court that the assistance or advice was given with reasonable care, be guilty of an offence…”

EIS is voluntary for this year.
Starting 2019, it's mandatory.
Perhaps you can see till next year.

How though? Do they just give it to you or do you need to fill some form for that?

After you file a self-assessment online, if there's a refund from IRB, they'll bank in to you.
If amount < RM 100, I think they won't refund it.

Do you have to do the assessment every year? How far back I'm allowed to submit? Can I submit for tax refund 3-4 years back? Or is it only the current year?
