I saw 2015 to 2018
But I'm not sure you can still amend for 2015 to 2017.

http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...=5000&bt_sequ=6

From the above link:

Amendment After Submission Of Form (From Year Of Assessment 2009)

A. Amendment Submitted Before Deadline for Submission of Return Form
B. Amendment Within 6 Months from Due Date for Submission of Form

I guess only that year of assessment only.

It also mentioned that amendments allowed for either under-declared income and/or over-claimed relieves but no mentioned of under-claimed relieves:

B.1 Income under declared / not declared
B.2 Expenses / other claims over claimed
B.3 Capital allowances / incentives / reliefs over claimed

Thanks but Tabung Harapan was not in the list? I remember it was reported that the donation is tax exempted. Anybody claims for this?

Thanks

hmm.gif read post 4850, page 243
".....a degree and above course outside Malaysia. The course of study and the college/uni must be recognised by the Malaysia government."

the former mentioned "outside" and also is that Master course of yours recognised by the Malaysia govt?

Has anyone claim relief for children over 21 studying for a degree overseas?
According to the Act, it only only allows for degrees which is taken at approved institutions.

How do you know what are the approved courses and institutions?

Anyone here earn income or trading profits through Bitcoin or other cryptos? Wondering how do you file for income taxes. I work remotely and get paid in crypto, so my only option is to sell it via p2p on crypto trading platforms like Remitano. The buyer will deposit MYR from their personal savings/current account to my savings account. One option I was thinking was to open a sole proprietorship and current account under my own name (not company name) then file taxes thru there. Would appreciate anyone who has experience with this and other sifus to hear your 2 cents!
*
can open a sole proprietorship entity as a business for trading bitcoin or other cryptos? hmm.gif

current provisions of the Income Tax Act was applicable to all cryptocurrency traders.
“All traders should adhere to the Malaysian tax requirement by keeping proper records for audit purposes and disclose any transactions from the cryptocurrency trading when requested by IRB,”

This is where I'm confuse  rclxub.gif . Form P and CP30 is for normal partnership.
However, I'm referring to LLP now, whereby as far as I understand, LLP will be submitting form PT.
So, I guess there will be some difference. Furthermore, how do I record the profit from LLP (after tax) in my individual tax file?
*
My friend is a director of a sdn bhd company...he swifted the profit out as director fees dividends.....he did not input into his be form

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this. I'm wondering if income shifting is legal in Malaysia? I did some googling and it seems like it's a legit tax strategy in the US to reduce tax, but I couldn't find any local articles about it.

For example, let's say I have a sole proprietorship for my freelance business. I got lucky and I scored a contract job that pays RM10k a month for 12 months. The money goes to my business bank account as business income, and I plan to withdraw RM9k as salary, leaving RM1k to cover other business expenses. But instead of doing that, since I am married, I hire my wife to do bookkeeping for my business, and give her RM2k salary, while I only withdraw RM7k salary. Now even though RM2k goes to my wife, it's still spent on our family expenses, so effectively I am still getting RM9k. But now, tax is reduced because RM2k is shifted to my wife who has a lower tax bracket.
*
My uneducated guess is as long as there is a paper trails that shows...
payment of 2k to your wife, another X% to her EPF, EIS insurance and Socso
annual EA form, etc, etc
would be alright
caveat emptor biggrin.gif

I can't find an exact answer from history here.
Does Maxis One plan can be claimed under Gaya Hidup?
*
not a qualified suggestion....
I think you will need a "Summarised billing" statement....
will this summarised billing statement shows the charges of "EACH" charges separately...
like what is the amount for roaming, internet, etc, etc?
the Gaya hidup on includes only subscription to internet....

kalau monthly plan tu boleh dikira langganan internet tak?
contoh :MaxisOne Plan 188 RM188
tapi fully bill RM599.74.
So maknanya hanya dikira RM188 jee kan? RM599.74 – RM188 = RM411.75.
RM411.75 itu tidak boleh dikira dalam pelepasan cukai.
betul?

Apa yang saya faham data internet ialah RM188 dan kredit panggilan RM411.75. Maka jumlah yang boleh claim ialah RM188 sahaja.

For the Lifestyle Tax Relief, can one taxpayer claim for two Internet Subscription for Home A & Home B ? Both under the SAME taxpayer name.
Do we claim only the subscription fee minus the 6% SST, right ?
*
well since no one responded, I kay poh abit.
I "think" can have 2 or more internet subscriptions....reason being Home A and Home B ha-ha.
just like i bought 2 tablets & 2 phones under my names.....

if not sure about the 6% sst....just don't add into it.
but I would still add as the cost of tablet and phones also has SST in it.

anyway, the tax to be calculate with SST is minimal ....
ex,...RM300 internet x 6% SST is RM18....
depending on the tax bracket......it could just be RM3.60 variance....
you think the LHDN is "EYEING" this amount?

need your opinion here...

I was at a coffeehouse just now,
beside my table sat 2 ladies speaking....thus I over heard a pretty lady discussing her tax issues with another lady.
the pretty one is a car saleswoman and the other is a tax accountant.

the sales woman is earning high income for being a top sales personnel of expensive cars thus is paying high taxes on her BE tax clearance.
the tax accountant was heard saying that the sales woman can seek tax reduction on expenses of paying commission to runners to performs JPJ and other functions faster, buying and paying of tinted glasses and carpets, etc, etc
buying gifts to customers on their birthdays, wife anniversaries, etc, etc...just to hope for repeat customers.
the accountant was heard telling her to keep the receipt and records of payment so that by next year March she can help her do tax submission.

I think cannot get tax reduction, but what do you tax experts think?

hmm.gif I think MUM is trying not be DIRECT....as

Section 114(1A) - Income Tax Act 1967 (in part)
“Any person who assists in, or advises with respect to, the preparation of any return where the return results in an understatement of the liability for tax of another person shall, unless he satisfies the court that the assistance or advice was given with reasonable care, be guilty of an offence…”, could be fined RM200-RM20,000 and/or jailed for up to 3 years.

i clicked on the link and there multiple link - not sure which one it is
ya, which is not helping actually when someone's not being direct in formal matters

i always believe insinuation and hint should only be reserved for situation among friends or on unimportant matters.

that said, i am still not sure what's the final conclusion - whether one can claim mobile purchase in 2 subsequent years.
*
Ti's is a public forum.... In which forummers are anonymous....
If one were to say "" NO"... You can only claims 3 yrs once.... " will you stick with that conclusion?
Or you will read the links by Mum, then seek out those links to read and then make your decision about its conclusion?

There's reason i ask this question here instead of at /kopitiam

which loosely translate to yes, i take reply here more serious than /k

if that what's said and shared, i will probably considered it as true

whether i will further verify or not, maybe i wont anymore
thus again, let me reiterate, it's finance , business and investment section last i checked ; not /k
*
OK, since you will take reply here more seriously, and will probably consider what ever DIRECT answer posted to be true regarding your query, instead of reading up on links provided on your own to make conclusion.....

ok noted your preference.
good luck and hope you will receives a DIRECT and TRUE answer.

yes, I just checked too,....registered anonymous LYN users can posts in any forums too, noticed some forummers from their usual "home" in /k also can to post in FBIH at times too. Because of the anonymous nature of the forummers, one may not know whos may be pulling our legs in our query.

if i stop working as an employee for 2 years which mean I dont have any EA form, how should i declare my income tax for 2019? I dont have fixed income nor sole proprietor or any company associate with me.

I will drop by LHDN next week but i am curious at moment.

TIA
*
while waiting for responses, I kay poh abit on this morning coffee break.
if this stop work is temporarily, ...I think one should continue to do e filing....just input "0" on income.
if this stop work is foreseen to be longer,.....I think one should inform LHDN for a exemption of filing
if this stop work is permanent,...I think one can inform LHDN to close the tax file
Stop work = non income (shadow economy income ----ok lah, as long as LHDN does not knew about it)
