If pay now is it consider late payment and need to pay additional 10%?
*
" What’s the penalty for late income tax payment?
If you failed to make the full payment after April 30 following the year of assessment, you will be charged a late payment penalty of 10% on the balance of tax not paid.
If the tax and penalty imposed is not paid within 60 days from the date the penalty is imposed, a further penalty of 5% will be imposed on the amount still owing.
Here’s an example:
Balance of tax not paid after April 30: RM 700
First late penalty (10%): RM 70
Total tax payable: RM 770
If the above is still not paid after 60 days, you will be charged another 5% on the RM770, making your total tax payable come up to RM 808.50."

(i am just not sure what that statement "following the year of assessment" mean....) hmm.gif

Do I Need to Pay Income Tax?

If you are a resident of Malaysia earning :

Above RM34,000 per year (after EPF deductions) or RM2,833. 33 per month (after EPF deductions)
Above RM38,202.25 per year (before EPF deductions) or RM3,183.52 per month (before EPF deductions)

Hey guys, let's say my salary only 3k, I don't have to pay income tax. But do I still need to declare my income?
*
Usually, a malaysian worker would have apart of salary portion, most would have annual bonus, some would also have allowances and extra perks, etc, etc

thus to determine if one is taxable or not...it is best be stated as annual income instead of salary per month

Am I taxable?
..............
with effect year 2015 an individual who earns an annual employment income of RM34,000 (after EPF deduction) has to register a tax file.

If the employee is eligible for STD deduction, he is advised to register an income tax file before STD is implemented.

What should I do if my income is taxable?
Application to register an income tax reference number can be made at the nearest IRBM branch.

Documents Required For Registration
* A copy of the latest Salary Statement (EA/EC Form) or latest Salary Slip
* A copy of Identification card (IC) / police IC / army IC / international passport
* A copy of marriage certificate (if applicable)

You can also register an Income Tax reference number via e-Daftar

http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...sequ=2&bt_lgv=2

so ask,....
does your total annual employment income for that year amount to RM34,000 (after EPF deduction)? ...if YES, then has to register a tax file.
do you eligible for the STD deduction?...if YES, then has to register a tax file before the STD is implemented.

Else one MAY not need to declare......

YES...to this decision.... thumbup.gif
"looks like wrong place to ask, I'll go ask a proper tax consultant."

What if...he is his own boss (property agent).....no previous employer?
Need to tell?
If yes.....can bluff bluff tell? Or no tell ?
Tp3 form applicable for declaring own business also?
*
I think TP 3 form is not applicable to business owner.
I think he can omit telling the new employer, for his total income of the current year (new job + previous business income) will be declared to LHDN "next year", thus he can pay any outstanding tax payable due to "not enough" MTD from the new employer, after the final computing.

I think only..... yah

Well but carousel dont specifically have proper receipt. Perhaps first one books wont be a problem but i do buy quite a lot of second hand books too.
*
then I guess too bad lor....
no documented proof thus no proof of happening, when no proof of happenings, then no tax relief claim are justifiable....

my uneducated guess for this sentence "for own use or for the use by own husband / wife or child and NOT FOR BUSINESS"...
is when they are cannot claim due to not tax declaration.....

ex...you can buy 4 h/ps.....at RM2500,...under your name....you claims but you pass to them for use....
*
ME. ME. ME......I am doing that...
my sons are still in schools...I buy for them "Tablets" under my name......I also bought smartphone for my spouse too under my name.

Is it common after the normal individual tax filling computation (with no business and other income etc), and I still need to pay additional tax (ie not refund case)? This is even after PCB deduction... =(
*
for the 1st few years....I had to pay some extra taxes every April even with MTD....after that, now MTD deducted more....now I do claim back yearly...

some people are happier if MTD deducted less biggrin.gif

Sifus, just wanna check and confirm - if i already submitted my declaration, can i pay in May, or must i pay by end of april? Wanna wait til May for 10% CB from card smile.gif
*
hmm.gif i think if you had submitted the declaration, then must pay by 30 April, but if the Govt as usual extent the dateline for tax submission to 15 May, then those submit during the extension period can pay in May.
well this is just my guess based on my logical thinking.

but between 30th April and 1st May.....just 1 day late I think the Govt won't make a scene out of it even though they can.

btw, mind sharing what card are you holding that can gives CB 10% on LHDN tax payment?

this 10%CB is worth the fees of 0.80% Administrative Charge fee when making a payment using a credit card to LHDN.

QUOTE(2387581 @ Mar 29 2019, 03:59 AM)
....
I understand that there are people who, after an increase in their income, continue drawing a similar amount of salary from the company, and by a separate agreement invoice their employer using a company registered under the employee's name, so the additional income would go into the company. In this way the employee's personal income will remain at a lower bracket, while the company, as the income is low, will get taxed less. Understandably with a registered Sdn Bhd, you ought to pay a certain amount to maintain the company's registration, accounts, returns, etc.
..........
I am asking on the basis that one is being employed full time and all income are derived from the employment only.
.....
*
Paying you full RM5000, the company will have RM5000 as expenses
vs
Paying you RM2000 for employment and RM3000 for "services offered" to you company, the company will still have RM 5000 expenses

unless you are a family members of that company,....i doubt that the company would do that to "help" you....
for it may affect their existing direct and indirect costing calculation for product pricing if any.
and having the possiblity of being "blackmailed" by you in future

i may be wrong, though. blush.gif
