Dear all,

I'm currently a practising lawyer who has an interest to pursue further my education in taxation. I notice that there isn't much information particularly institutions which offer taxation course. Would like to seek guidance from you all who had gone through the taxation path. As far as I know, there are only bachelor of taxation offered by unirazak and CTIM for professional paper. Further, would be grateful if anyone can shed some lights on which other institutions that offer part time.

Just curious , a career in taxtation can earn many money ?

Any career will bring you good income and comfortable life provided you abide to few natural rules like hardworking, eager to learn and of course a little bit of luck. Taxation just happens to be part of my career and I think it's appropriate for me now to have more knowledge about it.

How do u enter taxtation career? With bachelor in taxtation??

Well, I did not enter taxation career through any accounting or taxation qualification but just coincidentally the scope of works I'm handling now relates to taxation and as such would like to know more about the post graduate qualification(s). As for the second part of your question, I really do not know much except that UniRazak offers Bach of Taxation. That's why I'm asking in this forum for more information in regards to post graduate qualification in tax as I do not want to go through the undergraduate route.

I believe if you want to be a certified tax agent however, you'll need a professional qualification and a place that would accept a lawyer that's specializing in taxation.

Most people who don't have audit experience will probably face palm when dealing with taxes.

And there are many branches of taxation.

Indirect tax, direct tax, tax planning and etc.

Each field have different prerequisite, most of them having at least some exposure to audit industry. But not all.

Friends I know have accounting degrees or the professional qualifications like ACCA.

A specialized degree in tax is not needed.

Then, you can just apply for work at any accounting firms in the tax dept.
