Instead of banning, I presume they will come up with proper regulations and begin taxing all e-cig related products. In a way, this could be a good thing because:

1) The tax from e-cigs allows the government to make some money from it, instead of introducing a blanket ban and losing out in taxes

2) Regulation comes at a good time as frankly, no one knows what ingredients local brewers use in their juices and in what conditions the juices are brewed at (cleanliness, safety, R&D on side effects of certain ingredients)

3) As e-cigs will then no longer be a grey market, there will be a proper channel for disseminating information on e-cigs instead of relying merely on word of mouth. Eg; "My friend say you must try Nickel build at 0.01ohm, best cLoUdZZ!" without ensuring the friend he's talking to has a TC mod and battery rated to safely sub-ohm.

4) People will stop sharing annoying fake news about the dangers of e-cigs exploding in your face once they know that the government actually regulates it and it is safe (minus cases of user error and ignorance)

Ya if government is genius. They will make money from vape instead of banning it. Since Vape industry in malaysia is at peak now.

Well, there will always be those select few who do stupid things without researching the consequences. The blame shouldn't be pointed at anyone but themselves.

As fellow vapers, sharing information about vape safety to newbies should always be a priority.

Try the Taifun GT2, or maybe the erlkonigin, IMO the Taifun 2 is not that hard to recoil, i find it easier than the KF4

What make you think that Malaysia won't ban vape when Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, Panama, Singapore, UAE & etc had banned the sales of e-cig ??

Are these country government not smart enough to make money from vape, instead of introducing a blanket ban and losing out on taxes ???

??

Nothing is for sure of course, but I'm optimistic.

The country examples you gave have a smaller ratio of smokers per population compared to Malaysia. A 2012 survey pointed out that 40% of Malaysian males are smokers, and the numbers are increasing. It would be a good move to regulate e-cigs and get people off smoking cigarettes to lower our mortality rate due to smoking-related diseases.

Besides that, the vaping industry in those countries are/were nowhere near as big as the one we have in Malaysia right now. We're the second biggest market in the world after the USA, with a market that's predicted to be upwards of $1 billion by the next year or two. If they don't capitalize on something as huge as that, I can't say much more.

We are in a unique position in comparison to those other countries, so we'll see what happens in the coming months with our fingers crossed. whistling.gif

I think the problem with regulating e-cig is the fact that juices can be brewed by anyone. Meaning I can brew my own juice, and dont need to comply to any standard, and gov cannot fine me because nothing illegal is being done. I mean, how to fine someone making drinks for themselves?

Even mech mods can be DiY and thus avoiding any type of tax.

So what they can actually tax is regulated mods and registered liquids, which doesnt add much compared to analog.

Agreed on the mods & registered eliquids, it won't be as much as analogs. But at least they won't feel left out from getting a slice of the pie, and WE get to keep vaping! brows.gif

Juice is more complicated though. It's fine if you brew juice for personal consumption, but juice brewed for retail and marketed to more than a hundred thousand vapers should comply to certain safety and health standards. Self-regulation in the vaping industry has been successful so far, but with many trying to capitalize on the popularity of e-cigs and the profit margins of brewing, all it takes is one irresponsible brewer to bring down the whole house of cards.

Try putting your fingernail at the small juice control indent when twisting the cap off. Works for me when my RBA is too tight to unscrew.
