I can view BIOS / POST.
I can view Windows load.
The most I can reach is DESKTOP.
In some cases, the DESKTOP then after a while - CRASH.

It was miraculous that I managed to get some benchies done but even during that session I couldn't get it to go 4K no matter what.

Now I'm trying to get to benchies again, some can't do. Ridiculous so far.

It just doesn't make sense, a rig that can run GTX 980 Ti and R9 295X2 and never had any problem.

Changed PSU, even now my last ditch effort - raise the wattage to 850W but to no avail.

OK now I go try Fury X.

Epic fail review unit. You'd think AMD would test these things before sending it out to the media eh?

I'd have a look at the mobo and then run power diagnostics via a riser card and current clamps.

Not looking good either way.

problem is AMD a bit slow on update..  now is like waiting see if there any improvement on driver update for their flagship.. well amd driver always mature better than it's competitor,  but what disappointing Fury X it's  oc capability..  come on 1,125Mhz..  i could not get higher without crash benchmark and i have to sign out/in to recover from the mouse point disappear.. x

I think I oredi predict earlier that the thing sure OC like a lame duck laugh.gif

oh come on still earlier... give AMD some chance! maybe there be a Omega II  biggrin.gif  and not lame duck oki.. it's Fury X Duck!
haha.. look Nvidia have Edge over AMD on Tessellation.. BUT is not consider that as a Cheating/enhancement... but part Nvidia GTX Capability.. but what AMD Gpu have a ability to tweak it's  Tessellation...  so why not too keep it fair on compete with number.. i don't see it as cheating.. is just Uniegine benchmark top number don't get anything out of it..  but i do apologies if this offended "Elite" i remove it..  and no matter what re-bench i do on the heaven bench not satisfied him.. and from time to time he come back with personal attack.. '

i'm using 4K 60hz.. play game i don't look for jaggies .. just to enjoy gameplay meanwhile Graphic.. eh is just a lovely thing to see not soo focus on jaggies.. i'm four eye my eye already sux  to go look for jaggies.. turn AA on 4k, but like you say subjective..  icon_rolleyes.gif

Current OC max is around 100 mhz tops. It's probably a combination of hot spots and clock skew.

A further improvement of the process will probably yield an extra 50 to 75 mHz tops. They'll need to optimize their layout/logic placement and then couple it with a process improvement before it yields anything.

AMD is banking on the fact that developers will catch on to the Fury after programming for next gen consoles with similar GCN architecture. But my bet is that like the R520, improvements won't show till the next gen comes in as programmers take time to react to change and develop better strategies for optimization.

right...  okay eh you wanna buy Fury X, im putting it on sale soon...  i manage to get stable 75Mhz.. on benchmark and gaming..  but Temps is 50C during this load.. idle under 30C and is silent.. feel strange for AMD gpu.. lolx

so will there be magic driver to improve this gpu.. ??  or AMD waiting for Dx12 to boost or give edge towards their competitor..

I don't mind buying it, because I want my next rig for my next offshore job, so my GC must be small laugh.gif

There will be a driver which will probably improve things to parity (5 percent boost here and there). Either way AMD have looked to DX12 for improvement, the subtle notes are there, HBM, XDMA over PCI-E, Mantle and so on keep pointing to a future that isn't here yet, but surely will come.

I'm going to put my money on saying that the once the single die process is combined with a node improvement and logic optimizations, AMD will hit NVidia's Pascal really hard and in the balls.
