Radeon Pro Duo @ $1499 bye.gif

QUOTE
The Radeon Pro Duo is watercooled, just like its single-GPU cousin, and with the price set at $1499 it won't be for casual or even most enthusiasts - this is a card for the die-hard enthusiasts who need 120FPS+ at 2560x1440 or 60FPS+ at 4K. Past that, it's a card built for VR and its 90FPS+ requirement, and developers are going to snap this up for game development thanks to its beefy horsepower.

should i go for Radeon Duo PRO or wait Polaris...

Vega

QUOTE(Najmods @ Mar 17 2016, 03:39 PM)
At first Im tempted to buy Polaris but since its delayed for long I no longer bother with it. Twice I've been put my 290x on Garage Sales but pull out both time, I glad I did that. 290X most likely handle any new games at fullHD resolution for at least another year by the look of things. Even if Polaris is on time with the release I'll wait because each new process toom time to mature and I dont want to be a 'beta' tester.
*
yes, 290/290X is still good to handle high settings for now even for me at 1440p.
i think it can last another year until Vega announced. unless Polaris performance increase compare to Fury is significant and cheap at the same time.

Yeah, GPU usage rarely went above 90% and in some areas my CPU usage was around 50% which already max out.

Mine is technically an i7 bro, slightly slower than i7-3770 but without iGPU. laugh.gif
Problem is that many games didn't benefit from HT.

I'm planning to run my 2500K until 2020 given the sad state of affairs with CPU requirement in PC gaming tongue.gif
*
lel. i jump from 1055t x6 to 4770k. it is hard but worth it.
and yea, CPU was never that really important or a major role in gaming.

Does that mean a 4770 will noticeably bottleneck the card?

QUOTE(M1X @ Jun 1 2016, 11:49 AM)
This is such a... messy time. Dunno what words to describe.

What I needs : 1440p gaming. Hardware to support my occasionally rendering needs - which is CUDA. So 1070 seems like the way to go but it's ~MYR2000 a pop.

Now RX 480... ~MYR1000, while seems geared more towards 1080p gaming, but stack another one into crossfire and you get GTX1080's performance at ~MYR2000!! (if only the game support of course). But if I choose this, I will forsake my rendering needs - which I need to wait for software update to support OpenCL in the future.

So, with MYR2000 on hand...
getting a GTX1070 8GB is already a HUGE upgrade from my current 280X.
If RX 480 - it needs to be in PAIR to consider as HUGE upgrade... (4GB variant).

Damn... damn... damn... what to do? To jump or not to jump  cry.gif
*
I'll get what i need that fits my budget. Green or Red doesn't matter at all. and I'll avoid CF/SLI as well. 1 GPU FTW.
now just announce 480, still got 480X and 490(X) series. it won't hurt if you wait abit longer in which most budget user will do so.

n i fking just WC my 290 mega_shok.gif now load <60C. dayuum freaking nice compare to 83C (tri-x) in SF V bangwall.gif

you mean in CrossFire or what?
TriX is known to be the coolest of all AMD cards
*
just single gpu. not sure why my trix able to went up to 80C+ when its 100% utilize, tried reapply tim and etc still that range.
previously its <75C before i dismantle to clean it but weird sweat.gif

i just make my whole rig goes under water and get an used EK block for my r290 since i don't game that much and only eye Vega/Volta for my next upgrade.

cheap termal paste?
or just not laid to the right thickness.?

no way, i used mx-4 all the while and spreading style up to 99% base coverage laugh.gif
but anyhow, 80C+ aint gonna fry anything.

now time to wait for RX 490(X) series to be announce.
