QUOTE(vikingw2k @ Jan 24 2007, 12:30 AM) Most prolly they won't charge you if it's under warranty period and the spoilt component is under their Warranty Coverage I think what he meant is that if u take the AP set to the Nokia Authorized Service Center. I think you will be charged.

QUOTE(JONSETAn @ Feb 4 2007, 02:56 AM) Ohh just past by this thread.. Didn't notice it before. BTW I'm also N80 user. Great phone, but 1 thing that kinda annoyed is when receive something via bluetooth, it will save in the phone memory 1st.. So any software that can directly save file received via bluetooth into the memory card? I mean I do not need to open the file and save it from the phone memory.. Better late than never...hahaha...i've added u in the proud owner list! Welcome bro!

QUOTE(j0ann3 @ Feb 8 2007, 05:31 PM) n0t sure if its been asked.. but.. i've jus updated my firmware to V 4.0623.0.42
I'm currently using a 2GB memory card on my fOn... seems to be laggy when it comes to SMS-ing.. issit normal?? well.. the previous firmware was slower.. but its still laggy now.. could it be due to the memory card? or is it like that??
~thanx~ I am currently using the 2G memory card on my N80 too but i didn't notice any lag...well...maybe my definition of lag is difference than yours...haha Anyhow, please check whether you already have the Nokia SMS Accelerator installed in your phone. This software speed things up during SMS. The other thing you want to check is whether you set the messaging to use memory card rather than phone memory. I tried to set my messaging associate to the memory card before and it was disastrous lagging. Do check that out

QUOTE(pengster @ Feb 9 2007, 04:10 PM) hmm..icic.my firmware version is 4.0623.0.38.shall try to update to the latest and see what happens 1 more thing,my n80's web browser will shut down after awhile surfing LYN using wifi.it says that insufficient memory or something like that probably due to the cache but how do i overcome this problem? edit: after checking with Sysinfo it says that the n80 has 16mil colours..so actually is it 256k or 16mil? The insufficient memory is due to the old firmware, they fixed the problem with the latest firmware. Go and update ur firmware as soon as possible The display color of N80 is 252K

Brothers and Sisters of N80, I know the N80IE version software has been around for sometime for you guys to flash using 3rd party software, but guess what? I just connected my N80 to the Nokia Software Updater and it showed new firmware update available!!! Yes, you read it right, Nokia has officially support the N80IE firmware to the existing N80 user. I just updated the latest firmware and the version is now: V 4.0632.0.38 13-10-2006 RM-92 Nokia N80 (11)I read through the latest few pages of this thread and nobody has mentioned anything about the latest update available on the Nokia Software Updater. So here goes the news everyone!!! This post has been edited by Survivor: Feb 27 2007, 08:43 AM

Brothers and Sisters of N80, Nokia Mapping software ( same as the one that is available in N95) is available for download!!! I see no one share this information yet. I have downloaded the smart2go software and installed it in my N80. It works perfect! I really like it! Only lacking the external GPS receiver to test its full functionality. But the simulation mode is good enough for me If you are not rich and do not want to spent a lot on the GPRS/3G data rate to download the maps, you can do it via your Streamyx at home! Just connect your phone or memory card to your PC and download it via your PC. Check out the MapLoader software on the same smart2go web page. QUOTE Nokia on 08.02.07 announced that it is making its smart2go mapping and navigation platform (found in the N95), available for free download at www.smart2go.com. The platform allows for mapping and routing in over 150 countries and has support for full turn-by-turn satellite navigation in over 30 countries. The application allows to view where you are on a map, search for points-of-interests (POI) and create routes. Nokia plans to start offering the smart2go application for free, on Saturday, February 10th. Nokia plans to pre-install the smart2go mapping and navigation application on all future Nokia Nseries smartphones. Current owners of Nokia devices may also download Nokia Maps to their supported devices. Quote from My-Symbian.com

QUOTE(zulizo @ Feb 27 2007, 10:31 AM) so how's ur fon running after u updates? the laggingness is improve or not? i'm tired la of lagging with my fon..just used 128mb only, but the lag like used 1gb card..sometimes when people call it's hang..need to restart the fon.. Frankly speaking, I didn't experience any lag before the firmware upgrade and I didn't experience any lag also after the firmware upgrade. For your information, my phone is on 2G memory card some more. Maybe the definition of lag is varies between people but I think N80 is giving me very satisfactory fast respond

QUOTE(bububang @ Feb 28 2007, 01:10 PM) i plan to get a n80.. but how to differentiate between n80 and n80i? They are all the same now as Nokia has officially released N80i firmware for the previous N80. N80 is equals to N80i and vice versa.

QUOTE(swteo @ Feb 28 2007, 02:09 PM) I'm not sure this is PC suite bugs or just my N80 problem... I able to use the PC suite on my first time connection but when I disconnect the cable and try to connect back... It can't detect the handphone back... I even try to uninstall and install PC suite again but still don works... Any advise?? I have faced some USB connection problems before but I am not sure whether it is the same as yours. There is a few time when I connected my N80 to the PC and the connection icon doesn't show up in the phone, the PC will prompt "unidentified USD device". But if the connection icon showed during the connection, it doesn't has this problem. My solution is always unplug and plug again until it can work
