I started wow solo then a few friends of mine joined up. We started a small guild with bout 15++ regulars. We were quite familiar with each other. We completed all the 5-15 man instances, we down a couple boss of ZG. We stop at that coz of attendance problem. We do pvp everyday also, sometimes solo sometimes group up 3-5 ppl join bg.

After sometime we figure theres time to move on coz theres no more content for us. We moved to a new server, joined a bigger guild then raid all the way till BWL.
I quited when the guild re-structure for more hardcore raiding. Frankly, i am not familiar with half/most of the ppl. And most of the time i feel like a routine job/work to attend raid. My real life activities affected. I feel myself burn up n i no longer enjoy the game.

I am quite excited with the expansion now though thumbup.gif rclxm9.gif

i pvp most of the time. only go for raids to get better gear. but some raid encounters are actually fun. not MC or ZG, they've become too boring now.

I like AQ20 (wasn't in AQ40 enough to comment), it needs more coordination from players as opposed to healers only healing, tankers only tanking etc. Esp the Buru fight. EVERY SINGLE TIME someone is bound to die while jumping down from the cliff. Well, same as EVERY SINGLE TIME someone is bound to die while using the short cut to MC by jumping down from the ledge. I always just stand there to either heal or rez them :b

But I love raiding. Love it. Nuff said

Raiding is always fun, especially when you are learning a new boss (Naxx). However, when your guild turns competitive and hardcore, it could be exhausting and of course, burn out few raiders. For me, I stopped WoW because I felt that its like an obligation or responsibility for me to log in every night to raid, for if I miss the raid I won't be able to get attendance and DKP. Raid is getting too competitive and often enough people blame each other when a wipe occurs (especially on farm bosses).

But overall, raiding is all the time fun and enjoyable.

P/s knumskul : Yeap MC and ZG is getting plain and boring. C'Thun and certain Naxx fight is superb.

My guild seldom raid. The highest achivement we got is MC and nothing else =.="
Its not the kind of guild who really hardcore to get those end-game items.
But we PvP alot and do all kind of stupid things.

Lol, we have a secondary guild where all the guildmembers have super mega twinks. Its a shame and we admit that it kinda ruin the Pvp experience for starters tongue.gif

Thankfully Bliz has made the right decision to make 5-10 man instance gears quality a lot more close to the raid gears. Plus the Arena gears which is on par with the best raid gears. And i see most of the expansion contents are non-raiding.

So, there's not much need to raid anymore as before rclxms.gif

Someone posted at wow forum. And it was exactly how i feel the few days before i quited...

This afternoon I joined a few guildmates to go run around in LBRS for the hell of it. And it reminded me why I used to like this game. I could actually kite things! My pet was useful again! Traps were a necessary part of CC! And I actually could put all of my classes abilities to use, something 40 man raids can't offer. We could approach the encounters with different strategies, try different stunts (rock on double traps!), and just relax. How I played mattered; I wasn't just DPS bot #15.

I'd rather play the game for fun with a few friends then get thrown in a group with 39 other people who I've never met. I'd rather have the challenge come from the instance itself than from coordinating everyone's actions, schedules, updating dkp, and seething with frustration at the folks you're forced to bring along because you can't find 39 good players, or 20 for that matter.

The purple color sentence is the epic point biggrin.gif

it is in a way. but i don't get bored of it. reason being is i always get to fight different people who have their own unique styles of playing. especially now with cross-realm BGs, you get a wider variety of playing styles. its a challenge to be able to learn & counter their playing styles, especially those really skilled players which are ranked 12+.

ever tried playing a WSG game where there are 5 warriors, 1 shaman, 2 warlocks & 2 mages? shaman doesn't heal but is a dps caster. its was real hard to run the flag without proper support but i managed to win that game.

Aye, we have an all female (yes, RL females) lv19 twink guild. We pwn...seriously. And then some guys in the guild got pissed off that we turned down their app (coz they're males pretending to be females) so they created another lv19 all female character twink guild and called themselves Teen Girl Squad. Not sure how well they're doing though since I kinda stopped playing on that server.

PVP please. Raiding is nothx.

In fact I bought WoW due to the Alliance vs Horde thing which Blizzard oh-so-earnestly advertised. Raiding was, is and will always be an extremely alien concept to a player like me.

PvP+5-20 man instance>40 man instances

40 man instances=no casual chat...only listen to officers talk and you fight like mad for loots

PvP/small instances=you can do anything and crap any stuffs you like as long as you're familiar with the group

I rolled in another server because of real life friends. Had lots of fun leveling and doing instances with them instead of strangers who i dunno especially if they're kuai lo who doesnt speak my style of speaking

how exactly does the new honor system work? all i know is that you use some sort of point system to buy the rewards, so everybody is equal in that they have access to all the rewards.

i reckon they should keep the "highest rank" part on your honor page. get to show off my highest rank tongue.gif

I love raiding. I love new encounters. Instances like AQ40 are extremely fun. I hate farming easier instances because it's boring and appeals only to raid spotters/loot-wh***s. Raiding lets you see 80%+ of WoW's new content, storylines, boss fights. Everytime you down a boss, you get to see new stuff.

Pure PvP will never appeal to me because there is only a small fixed number of mechanics and maps you get. It's like playing the same DOTA or Counterstrike map over and over and over again. Nothing wrong with that, but I prefer to see new stuff.

Due to work I have to stop raiding a while. I really miss it a lot. sad.gif

Wah... the result getting closer sweat.gif

Those who choose raid, if bliz gave the same quality of gears for 5-10 man instance & raiding instance and bliz also update the content for 5-10man & raiding instance at the same pace.

Think of there's an equavalent askandi in 5/10 man inst/pvp..
Think of an equavalent of naxxramas 5/10 man style...

Honestly do u still think u really enjoy raiding & will choose raiding instead of 5-10man instance? Do u really enjoy raiding or u actually juz want the raid gear or u have no choice but to raid to experience the contents...

I hate raiding. Raiding kills WoW.

I've raid before, cleared BWL but honestly, how many more new boss, new encounters can you do again before it get repetitious to the point of tedious.

Errr... i have to disagree on this logic.
A badminton champ overcome a competitive human opponent where as raiders overcome simple AI with fixed fighting pattern.

On the other side i don't think properly done 5-10 man instance will be easier than raiding instance. As a raider myself before, i would said even completing dire maul required more personal contribution, class skills & etc.

QFT this again:
"I'd rather have the challenge come from the instance itself than from coordinating everyone's actions, schedules, updating dkp, and seething with frustration at the folks you're forced to bring along because you can't find 39 good players, or 20 for that matter."

The logic is correct. Your argument was about reward, and the point was giving the same reward for a higher achievement is a bad idea. It is not about the type of the challenge (human/AI), but the difficulty. Higher challenge = higher reward laugh.gif

You are totally right with the schedule, dkp, and finding players (I know how it feels! sad.gif ).
