guys, usually when you wanna do renovation, and got neighbors beside your house, do you ask permission from them? or inform them? for eg, want to remove the steel gate (porch)?

When u apply for renovation permit from MPK, there are a form to fill up which require ur neighbour consent for ur renovation.I have call both my neighbor about my intention for renovation and they say its fine, as long as i clean up the mess afterwards.
