3M cheap model? if u hav the model code, that wud b helpful     cuz wat i did find on the web for 3M cheap are AP easy complete undersink (8xx~9xx) and AP Easy Cyst FF under sink (around 1k) but their filter replacement cost around 250 for 6 mth use..... meaning 5xx a year (onli if i follow fully the replacement period la... )

Considering aquaphor also, although starting price a bit higher but cartridge replacement onli 4xx for 1,5yr..... look more affordable in the long run....

Ya, quite sad coz I've already prepare for a connection to faucet tap as initially i could use purified water directly from faucet.
If that's the case, then I would need to prepare another filter for undersink connection to faucet tap.

If you are boiling the water and able to DIY, you will need the two common filtrations sediment and carbon.

Just buy the parts like 2nos of water filter housing, faucet, connectors, pipping, a 1μ sediment filter and a 1μ carbon block.
For the housing will cost ~Rm50 - Rm150
Faucet from ~Rm60 - Rm150
Connectors from ~Rm 30 - Rm100
Pipping  ~ Rm50
1μ sediment filter from Rm5 - Rm60
1μ carbon block. from Rm30 - Rm90
Total cost will be from Rm275 - Rm750
This diy set up will cost less in maintaining the filter replacement vs the branded filter as you need to buy from the respective company only.
Whereas DIY route, you can purchase from almost anywhere from cheap imitation to quality and or certified filter component.

It's good to have a quality water filter.

Unless he chooses really cheap components or can get high quality components at heavy discount, it is really not worth it. Just as an example, Lite filter we offer is made of HQ components and able to remove bacteria/viruses is 850RM. You are right, it is possible to assemble for 275-300RM from super cheap components, but then why not just get something like 3M lowest tier model for 200-300-ish? This approach works well for special needs though. Example, if someone needs chlorine free water for fish tank, then yes, buying cheapest housings, fittings etc and adding high quality cartridges works and saves $. Just my opinion of course.

Hello everyone! I jus bought LG Puricare WD210AN, RM2505 with 4 years service.

Now I need an outdoor water filter, but due to space constraints I can only go for smaller size which should be membranes filter.

Any recommendation?
