Hello all,

n00b here researching info about water filters/purifiers etc. Until I came here I didn't know it was so complicated.

Can someone please explain the difference between the various products e.g. under-sink, or those normally put beside the sink like the Panasonic type, etc.? What's the difference between all the filter type - ceramic cartridge la, silver filter la, alkaline filter etc etc etc?

My parameters are as follows:-

-- budget between RM100-RM250, but if it is really a must-have product I can still go a little higher
-- don't mind boiling the water again after filter, if it is not an all-in-1 type of product
-- don't have much counter space next to my sink, only can put like 1 standalone filter, otherwise will have to put underneath

P.S. Perhaps later this info can be compiled and put into the first post for the future reference of other n00bs like me haha ... I found the first post helpful and informative to avoid all those nonsense "super-pure / miracle / magic" water sold by brands like Diamond, Nesh etc. (I always knew there was something suspicious about them!!)
